Chapter 29- Steel Cold Heart Part 2

Spider-Man, Johnny Gallo, and X-51 looked up to see Lady Ursula on her speeder bike descend down as Spider-Man murmured, "Lady Ursula? I never thought I'd be happy to see her." Johnny reminded, "Then again she was our friend before the incident." Spider-Man nodded in agreement until Lady Ursula went to the demolition site. She smirked, "Spider-Man, now you're stealing city property." He responded, "Only when property asks to be stolen. I don't think X-51 wants to be recycled into a minivan." Lady Ursula replied, "Not to worry. I have orders to bring the robot for inspection." Spider-Man said, "Oh, and when you're done playing mad scientist, you'll repair him. Right?" She answered, "No, then it gets recycled into a minivan." Then Lady Ursula laughed heartily. Spider-Man puts down X-51 and declared, "Sorry, Mama Bear. I'm not gonna let that happen." Lady Ursula chuckled, "Spider-Man, how I've looked forward to this moment." She gets off her speeder bike and pounded her fist on her palm as Spider-Man stood ready. X-51 stopped him as he said, "Stop. This unit will surrender." Johnny asked, "What? You can't trust these guys!" X-51 responded, "This unit has caused much disorder. Pain. This unit will no longer endanger the innocent." Spider-Man and Johnny reluctantly agreed as Lady Ursula and the Machine Men flew away with X-51. Spider-Man quickly put a spider tracer on X-51 without them noticing. Lady Ursula mocked, "How disappointing. We shall have to postpone our contest. Until next time, Spider-Man! Ha ha ha!" Spider-Man clenched his fist as he watched them leave.

Later That Evening...
Spider-Man and Ricochet swung through Counter-Vale as they followed the spider tracer's signal. Spider-Man pointed, "X-51 should be in that tall skyscraper." They swung to it but got bounced off by an invisible force field. Spider-Man and Ricochet landed to the side of a building to regain their vision as Ricochet complained, "A forty-story force field? Why does everything have to be so complicated here?" Spider-Man nodded, "We're gonna need help getting there. And I know one place to get it."

Later In The Sewers...
Spider-Man and Ricochet were driving with John Jameson and Karen O'Malley on their way to the tall skyscraper. "Thanks for helping us," said Spider-Man gratefully. John replied, "I'm not doing this out of the goodness of my heart, web-slinger." Karen added, "If we can snatch this X-51 away from the Knights, we're hoping that we will exchange him for Bromley." Spider-Man asked, "Bromley?" John explained, "Machine Men grabbed him two nights ago. His Dax camera failed. If they break him, he can tell them all about our operations. And they'll break him. No one can stand up to the High Evolutionary and his Knights. No one." Ricochet asked, "Is he always this much fun or did we catch him on a good night?" Karen smiled with some hidden amusement as John piped up, "The only way to get pass that force field is to go under it." They blast a hole inside of the building as Spider-Man pointed, "The tracer says to go that away."

Sir Ram with his assistants, a female lizard Bestial and a male gorilla Bestial, analyzed X-51 on his table. Sir Ram reported, "There is a momentum amount of damage. Also some unusual configurations." He attached an instrument to one of the robot's functions until the alarm sounded. Sir Ram grabbed a microphone and ordered, "Intruders! Seal the building!"

John drove fast as doors began to close and the vehicle came through before the doors closed. The last one led to the laboratory as the door closed in between the vehicle. Spider-Man, Ricochet, John, and Karen jumped down before the door could get them. Spider-Man leaped toward Sir Ram and his assistants as he quipped, "Hi. We're here to see X-51. Aw, visiting hours are already over?" Sir Ram glared, "Spider-Man. I grow weary of your constant interference. This time I shall make you pay!" Ricochet joked, "Well, keep it cheap. I can only accept pocket change!"

The female lizard Bestial leaped toward Karen with a laser scalpel and hissed, "Human scum!" The redhead somersaults away and countered, "Proud of it, sister!" Karen threw a knife and the laser scalpel was knocked off of the lizard Bestial's hand.

The gorilla Bestial looked at John and said, "Well, that leaves you for me." He blasted a purple laser from a device to which John dodged.

Sir Ram swung a surgical buzzsaw at Spider-Man and Ricochet as he proclaimed, "The High Evolutionary maybe blind to your true nature, Spider-Man and Ricochet! But I am not! I shall show you no quarter!" He swung again as Spider-Man and Ricochet dodged. "Leave this place while you still can!" gritted Sir Ram. "The robot is none of your concern!" The two teammates did back handsprings as Spider-Man asked, "I know why we want X-51. The question is, why do you?" He shot some impact web balls at Sir Ram as the ram Bestial was trapped in a giant ball of webs. Spider-Man and Ricochet went to it as Sir Ram tore himself out and answered, "He is an anomaly, a wonder of curiosity. He must be studied. Analyzed!" Spider-Man reminded, "And destroyed in the process!" Ricochet added, "You're some scientist, wool for brains!" Sir Ram angrily grunted as he swung his buzzsaw at them again.

The female lizard Bestial recovered her scalpel and Karen smirked as the two fought again. The gorilla Bestial grabbed John's leg and threw on a wall. Spider-Man and Sir Ram struggled as the surgical buzzsaw was getting close to the web-slinger's chest. Ricochet threw a razor sharp disc which cut the buzzsaw in half and Spider-Man kicked Sir Ram away. He grabbed his long staffed mace and declared, "I will finish this once and for all!" Spider-Man shot several spider darts, making Sir Ram get staggered. Spider-Man then shot some impact webbing pellets and leaped up as he said, "For once, Sir Leg-a-lot, I agree with you!" Sir Ram was entangled by the webs as he struggled. The gorilla Bestial was about to finish John off as he slid under his enemy and kicked the gorilla Bestial toward some machinery. The lizard Bestial was about to kill Karen as Ricochet threw a disc on her head and Spider-Man spun a web line on her back. Then Spider-Man swung the lizard Bestial to the gorilla Bestial as both Bestials were beaten and entangled in webs.
