Chapter 33- Cry Vulture Part 3

Phil was in his cell as the bars opened and an ape Bestial with a rifle ordered, "You, move." He walked out as Spider-Man watched through a window. He realized, "Bestial Beauty Cosmetics! This building's a lab. Innocent people as test subjects!"

The web-slinger went up to meet with Venus Deterzo, Nightingale, and Vulture. They watched as an angelfish Bestial enter a passcode and do a retinal scan. The door opened and the angelfish Bestial entered inside. Vulture noted, "No way in without a retinal implant." Spider-Man smiled, "Leave it to me, bird man. I've got just the ticket." He activated his cloak as Venus looked at Vulture smugly. Spider-Man jumped down as another angelfish Bestial did a retinal scan and the door opened. Spider-Man landed and quickly jumped in before the angelfish Bestial noticed anything.

Spider-Man crawled around the walls and de-cloaked himself and said, "Solid door should be around here." He quickly got the ceiling before the angelfish Bestials could spot him. Spider-Man saw an exit door and spun a web to open the door. Vulture and Spider-Man's two teammates came inside as he grumbled, "Took you long enough." Then two guards saw them and began blasting them. Venus deflected the blasts with her whip as the three began to run and Vulture flew alongside them. They headed to another room where they were stopped by flames. "What the-?" asked Spider-Man astonished. "Where do you insects think you're going?" asked a gruff woman's voice. She looked like Yang Xiao Long but she was completely covered in dandelion-colored scales with sharp teeth and claws, wings, and fiery breath to match which she blew toward them. The four scattered away as Spider-Man quipped, "You seriously have a bad case of indigestion!" Vulture came up behind her to which the scaled Yang lookalike punched and knocked out. Venus ran to help him but was hit by a stun ray thanks to a couple guards. Nightingale was knocked out by behind by a amphibian Bestial. "Then there was one," smirked the woman as she drew her fire breath. Spider-Man tried to swing away but the fire burned down the web and knocked him out on the floor. The woman ordered, "Take him to research and development."

The Bestial Yang led the four captured heroes as she stated, "It isn't everyday where we experiment on interesting specimens. I'm going to enjoy this." They strapped the four onto lab tables as Venus asked, "What does that mean?" The woman answered, "What it means is you'll soon regret the moment you ever went against Sun Dragoness." Nightingale frowned as Venus scoffed, "I'm pretty sure I got that without the demo." An amphibian Bestial entered and reported, "The Master is here." Vulture gritted, "The High Evolutionary. I'd be honored to meet my creator if I didn't already hate him!" Then to their surprise Sir Ram entered and asked, "Why should he get the credit when someone so much more deserving works?" Spider-Man questioned, "Ram-head! You're behind all this?" Sir Ram replied, "We do what we must to elevate ourselves, yes. With Sun Dragoness, I created a being the High Evolutionary could only dream of. As a result of my work, there will be many more to come. Proceed." Sun Dragoness pressed a button and four laser drills pointed toward the three teammates and Vulture. They struggled as Spider-Man quickly thought and shot a spider dart at a fire extinguisher near Sun Dragoness. That surprised her as the explosion freed the four and began fighting the security guards. Sir Ram and Sun Dragoness retreated away as Nightingale saw Phil and freed him. Vulture stated, "I've got to go free the prisoners!" Nightingale added, "We will come as well." Spider-Man nodded as Venus agreed, "We'll keep fire breath busy."

Spider-Man and Venus ran out and dodged Sun Dragoness' fire blast as the two teammates rushed for the roof. "Fry, insects!" roared Sun Dragoness. She flew after them with a shriek as Venus joked, "And here I thought you were a fat-free kind of gal!"

Vulture and Nightingale began freeing the prisoners as he flew away. Nightingale could feel their joy as Phil helped her lead them on the way out.

Spider-Man and Venus avoided Sun Dragoness' fire blasts until they saw Sir Ram flying toward on his speeder bike. "I thought we were supposed to keep dragon girl busy," complained Venus. Suddenly, Vulture took over the controls of the flying bike making Sir Ram sputter in confusion. "No, Sir Ram," gritted Vulture as he forced the bike down. "You were right. You deserve all the credit for this!" The bike ran over Sun Dragoness making Sir Ram jump off and the bike crash into a water tower. The water spilled all over Sun Dragoness who cried in pain. She saw Vulture flying away as she glowered, "Say goodnight, bird." She flew after him as Venus stated, "There must be someway to put out that fire!" Spider-Man noticed a truck carrying liquid nitrogen tanks and smiled underneath his mask. He took one and crawled up toward the airborne battle. "Hey, Sun Dragoness!" called Spider-Man as he spun a web line on her leg. "The cure that prevents for Spider-Man's chronic pain prescription doses!" He swung over her and put the liquid nitrogen in her mouth. That made Sun Dragoness launch off and smashed through a sign into unconsciousness.

Sir Ram began to get back up but was stopped by Vulture and the prisoners. "There he is!" shouted Vulture. "Your tormentor!" The prisoners grabbed Sir Ram as Spider-Man, Venus, and Nightingale came to the scene. "Wait!" debated Nightingale. "You do not want to do this!" Vulture snarled, "After what he did to them?! What better justice is there?" Spider-Man insisted, "Listen to me, Vulture! Killing Sir Ram will turn all of you into what he is! A monster." Vulture growled, "Get out of the way!" Venus reasoned, "They are other ways to win your war, but this battle is already over." Nightingale agreed, "After what has happened, Bestial Beauty is as good as out of business." Phil walked up to face Venus and agreed, "They're right! Revenge may sound sweet, but home sounds a whole lot better." Everybody begrudgingly accepted and walked away. Sir Ram stood to his hooves as Spider-Man turned to face him and stated, "You got off better away than you thought, Sir Ram. Next time you won't be so lucky." Sir Ram glared, "Nor you." The Knight walked away as Venus held Spider-Man's hand. Vulture scoffed, "Nice speech, but in my book you're still wannabes." He flew off leaving the three teammates behind.

Later, Venus met up with Phil at the streets and handed him another grilled cheese sandwich. "Thanks for saving my life," said Phil gratefully. "This time I'll finish my grilled cheese." She smiled as he walked away happily.
