As Spider-Man followed Hammerhead, Montana, Ox, and the thugs on the train yard, the subject about Venus Deterzo shifted into Hammerhead's delivery of some kind of rock. Spider-Man thought, 'What's all this about a magical rock?' Then Madame Web's head popped up as she explained via telepathically, 'They are talking about fragments of the portal Demogoblin created. If you remember, Demogoblin was the result of combining Hobgoblin, the Carnage symbiote, and Mister Negative's black-and-white energy. When the portal was opened into this world, the symbiote part of the fireballs Demogoblin created dried up into two fragments with mystical properties.' Spider-Man nodded in understanding as Madame Web added, 'You must collect the fragments and bring them to me for safekeeping. There is no telling what will happen if Mr. Lorenzini or Mr. Osborn will do if the fragments remain in their hands.' Her head disappeared as Spider-Man continued following Hammerhead.

One of Hammerhead's thugs asked, "So where'd you find that hunk o' rock?" Hammerhead answered, "Southeast of Vale. Fell outta the sky in a explosion of light, lands outside of Junior's Bar. Osborn hears it from some of our boys here, sends me out to fetch it." Montana observed, "You don't sound so happy." Hammerhead replied sarcastically, "No? Listen to my voice. I'm thrilled. The boss tells me to do something, I do it. When I ask him my opinion, he tells me. He wants me to be his little errand boy... I'll deliver." Spider-Man thought, 'He's got Osborn pulling his strings, I've got a floating head lady. I'm starting to wonder which one of us is more of a puppet.' Hammerhead and his men had another train worker hostage as they forced him to open another gate. "You can't get away with this, you, you... scum!" protested the train worker. Undaunted, Hammerhead threatened, "Yeah? How's your kneecaps? In good shape? Eh? Wanna keep 'em that way? Don't ever talk to me like that again." Hammerhead turned to a thug and ordered, "You know the drill. See the Spider, you ice that jerk." The thug nodded, "Right boss." Then they walked through the gate leaving Spider-Man with the thugs. He web-zipped over the thugs' heads on the trusses. Spider-Man then spun a couple web lines on them and put them in web cocoons before they knew what was going on. Spider-Man descended down to the hostage and freed him as the train worker opened the gate. He went up into the shadows as he followed the villains once more. "So Osborn..." started Montana. Hammerhead grumbled, "Osborn's workin' up my last nerve. He's got me, all of us bosses collectin' these fragments, runnin' errands for him like bag boys. I'll tell ya what though. If Osborn thinks he's the only one who can appreciate the power of this thing, he's not as sharp as he thinks he is." A thug asked, "You gonna keep it for yourself?" Hammerhead responded, "I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do. Don't worry about it." Montana asked, "What about the Spider-Man?" Hammerhead smirked with amusement. Ox asked, "Ehhh... what's so funny?" Hammerhead chuckled, "You leave the Spider-Man to me. He's not as sharp as he thinks he is either." Spider-Man murmured, "I resent that." Spider-Man got into the vents as he then saw a thug come up to Hammerhead and the two Enforcers.

Hammerhead glared, "Don't tell me you haven't killed him yet." The thug replied, "He-He's been tearing the place apart. Freeing the hostages, ripping the gates, knocking out the guys." Hammerhead asked, "That so?" Then he swung one of his Tommy guns' barrel at the thug's face and muttered, "Told him not to tell me. All right now. Time to step it up." Hammerhead, Enforcers, and two other thugs walked cautiously forward as Hammerhead called, "Spider? You out there? You hear me? Hear this: it's war now. After tonight, you'll need a pallbearer- and I'll be at your service!" Hammerhead turned to the thugs and ordered, "You two stay put. He'll be coming after me. Your job is to stop him. And if don't, you'll wind up like that jerk. Believe it." A thug asked nervously, "Wh-where are you going?" Hammerhead answered, "Me? I gotta put something together in case he get past you guys. Not that I don't have total faith in you... but I don't. Montana and Ox, with me. Make sure no one comes in." Then Hammerhead and the Enforcers left and closed the doors. The first thug muttered, "Thanks for the vote of confidence." The second thug mocked, "Yeah! Thanks Hammerhead. Go climb up your thumb." Spider-Man chuckled, "Sorry fellas, but I'm about to prove him right." Then Spider-Man used his spider sense and it saw that a replacement rectangular metal piece was loose. Spider-Man shot a few web lines on it and pulled. Then the metal piece was then yanked off as Spider-Man went through it and saw several thugs with guns. He then heard Hammerhead's voice in the intercoms taunting, "Enjoy, creep. I got my toughest men here. They ain't leavin' until you stop suckin' air." Spider-Man declared, "Yeah? Let's see how tough they are!" He turned to his left and saw a thug walking by. Spider-Man web zipped behind him and snuck behind the thug as he then knocked him out and entangled him with webs. Spider-Man saw another thug as he walked stealthily toward him and knocked him out. He then saw another thug and web zipped toward him and knocked him out. Spider-Man went down to the floor as he heard one of the thugs muttered, "This is a waste of my time." He hid behind a nonworking train and waited for a thug to walk by. When Spider-Man saw one, he then pulled the thug toward him and knocked him out before entangling him with webs. Spider-Man heard a couple thugs coming and quickly went on top of train and saw two thugs pointed their guns. "Where'd he go?" asked one of them. The second answered, "I don't..." Then Spider-Man suddenly put them in web cocoons at the same time as a thug went in the room and asked, "Hey, where'd everybody go?" He looked around to see the room was empty as he ran out and added, "This doesn't look good!"
