Team SVRN, John Jameson, and Scarlet Spider were surrounded by the Machine Men as one Machine Man descends to them and ordered, "Stop. Your orders are superseded by the Knights of Wundagore. These suspects are now in my custody. Return to your stations immediately." Then the other Machine Men flew away as Spider-Man muttered, "Great. Through the frying pan and into the fire." The Machine Man looked at him and replied, "Spider-Man, I was once known as X-51." Venus Deterzo was overjoyed and hugged X-51 as Spider-Man smiled, "Hey, the ole rust bucket himself. Like the trendy new look." John explained, "He's working with us now. We gathered some armor, and put it on him." X-51 completed, "And now I am better than new." Venus let go and agreed, "You look better than new." X-51 said, "The deceit won't last long. We have to go before the authorities arrive." Nightingale nodded, "Then lead the way." Scarlet Spider said, "I have to go. Our common mysterious friend needs me, and you know how much she hates waiting." Then he swung away.

Later at the Rebel HQ...
Daniel Bromley was on his computer and widened, "Blimey. Every time I look at the download X-51's original memory storage, there's something new. Harness fusion power plant. That monstrosity taps into a natural fusion core. That's enough radiation to pollute the Basement's water supply and kill off the population for a few years." Karen O'Malley declared, "All in the name of powering the upper world. Shutting the place down will be a pleasure." Bromley replied, "One small problem, love. Getting past the usual assortment of security measures is one thing, but the main power switch is located just inside this room." He pointed to a room in the middle of the plant. "Roving laser sentries make it impossible to reach without getting your bum fried," added Bromley. Git Hoskins shook his head as Karen suggested, "What if we found someone who can walk on the ceiling with good enough reflexes against the sensors?" Bromley replied, "If you mean Spider-Man, the bloke hasn't exactly blown to our cause." Then the alarm sounded as the three pulled out their weapons. They ran up to meet with John and Team SVRN with X-51. "Good work recoding these alarms," said John. Karen hugged him and smiled, "John, you're back. And you brought Spider-Man." The web-slinger protested, "Hey, I found him. Where's my hug?" Venus pouted, "What are we, chopped liver?" Karen answered, "I've got something better."

Everyone looked at the data Bromley found as John nodded, "Karen's right. The only one who can get to that switch is you. Plant offline, the High Evolutionary won't have a choice. He'll have to negotiate with us." Spider-Man looked at his team as they nodded. He turned to the Rebels and agreed, "I'll do it. To help my fellow humans and Faunus."

The Rebels and three of Team SVRN got into their vehicles as Spider-Man rode on top of X-51. "Talk about your ragtag army," murmured Spider-Man. "These guys don't even have a marching song." Eventually they found the plant. The web-slinger looked at it and thought it looked like an upturned mushroom with a pyramid on top. They went to the side of the plant as Bromley activated a blowtorch and carved a big hole door. Everyone entered with caution and weapons ready. Bromley went over to a passcode panel and entered a code. Spider-Man spoke up, "My spider sense is on overdrive." Ricochet agreed, "Mine, too." Then two Machine Men suddenly appeared and ordered, "You have trespassed a restricted area. Surrender now." Venus muttered, "Guess we lost the element of surprise." X-51 descended down to the Machine Men and ordered, "Halt. Your orders have been superseded by the Knights of Wundagore. The Rebels are my prisoners. Return to your station immediately." One Machine Man replied, "Negative. My central processor has deemed your orders invalid." Nightingale shrugged, "We guess we could not do the same trick twice." The Machine Man ordered, "Step aside or face termination." Bromley started firing as the Machine Men returned fire. Then both sides started blasting each other as Spider-Man entangled them with his webbing. Everyone else started to take over the plant as John, Karen, and Spider-Man separated from the Rebels and Spider-Man's teammates. The web-slinger asked, "Is this what you call a power plant? What did Bromley use to decrypt this thing, a decoder ring?"

A warthog Bestial in a security uniform was walking until Karen did a sailing kick that knocked him to the wall. He went to pull out his blaster but Spider-Man got a spider dart that stunned him. The three went to an aerial truck as John pulled out a device and used it on the vehicle. He reported, "Sensors are jammed." The three went inside as Spider-Man noted, "Nice wheels, but I didn't come all this way for a joyride." John replied, "The power plant is our next stop." Karen explained, "While the firefight keeps the High Evolutionary's forces occupied, we'll be half across town pulling the plug." The colonel and redhead put on a helmet as he continued, "We didn't fill you in because it was a military mission. Everything is strictly need to know." Spider-Man frowned, "Confidentially, colonel. I have a few needs of my own." Then they flew on their way.

Karen handed a gadget to Spider-Man as John said, "This tracker is calibrated to electrical switches frequency." Spider-Man nodded, "I get it. Just follow the bouncing ball and I'm home free. Here goes." Spider-Man jumped out and swung on his web as the aerial vehicle went to the plant. The security guard looked at John and Karen with their helmets on. John showed him a card as the guard allowed them to pass. John said, "Remind me to compliment Git on his counterfeiting abilities."

Spider-Man started climbing through the power plant as he began to follow the frequency. He eventually found a room where the main switch was. Spider-Man had also spotted several drones surveilling on the floor. He climbed on the ceiling as the drones immediately saw him. They began blasting at him as Spider-Man began to dodge.
