A thug went inside a hall of mirrors in an abandoned carnival. The thug shuddered, "He's after the cat girl and rocks we've been bringing you. First he got Hammerhead, and now he's headed here!" There was no response. The thug added, "I'm tellin' ya, Mr. Osborn, The Spider-Man is comin'!" Norman Osborn asked, "Do you take me for a fool?" The thug asked, "W-What?" Norman explained, "I want him to come. Let the spider fall into my web!" He held up a fragment as he theorized, "The other fragment made Hammerhead more powerful. Let's see what this one does for me!" Then he started to mutate into a giant goblin like creature.
Spider-Man arrived at the gates of the abandoned carnival where there rides and fireworks shooting up in the air. "Tonight, I'm bringing Venus back to me," vowed Spider-Man. "Then I'm gonna make you pay for keeping her hostage and get that fragment back. Then your hold on Vale ends." Then Goblin's voice was heard over the loudspeakers as he announced, "Welcome, Spider-Man. Look around! Do you know where you are?" Spider-Man suggested, "A demilitarized zone?" The Goblin responded, "The carnival where I once starred in the freak show. Many years ago. The perfect place to begin my revenge." Spider-Man jumped on top of the gates as the Goblin continued, "But when I came back, I had to relocate the current employees to more temporary lodgings. And I do mean temporary..." Spider-Man looked around at the carnival and saw innocent people in a cage. The Goblin chuckled, "I have this unfortunate tendency to kill things when I'm bored. You'll see." Spider-Man declared, "Wrong, Goblin. Cause I'm gonna find them, and I'm gonna save them. Then I'm gonna find you and put you down like the wild dog you are. And last but not least, I'm gonna bring Venus and the fragment back... starting NOW!" Then he carefully started to walk over the reins of the triangular flags as the web slinger snuck up on a thug on a wooden watchtower and quietly knocked him out. Spider-Man then saw a hostage in a cage being guarded by two thugs. He spun two web lines on them and placed them in web cocoons. Spider-Man then sprung the cage open and got the civilians out. He helped the people find their way out. The Goblin bellowed, "I am surrounded by idiots!"
Spider-Man swung over to the hall of mirrors when suddenly the Goblin lunged at him.
"BEHOLD! The Goblin in all his glory!" proclaimed the Goblin. "Stronger! More powerful!" Spider-Man taunted, "And that hair! It's scarier than ever!" The Goblin snarled, "I'll give something to be scared of." He lifted his giant foot and was about to stomp on Spider-Man but the web-slinger dodged his foot. Spider-Man then spun a web line on the Goblin and pulled him over to punch his scaly face. "Where. Is. Venus?!" demanded Spider-Man, punch after punch. Goblin only snickered, "You're pathetic. And you thought you could beat me? HA!" Spider-Man leaped onto Goblin's glowing red back and began punching it. That seemed to hurt the Goblin as he grunted and threw the web-slinger off of him. "Give it your best shot then, if you can," challenged Goblin. "Come and face your superior... The Goblin Victorious!" Then the Goblin ran back inside the hall of mirrors as Spider-Man slowly got back up and followed his enemy through the hall of mirrors to a circus tent.
When Spider-Man walked into the circus tent, his eyes widened as he saw Venus Deterzo in a cage, wearing a jester costume, a collar, and a chained leash. "Venus...." said Spider-Man softly. The Chimera cat Faunus looked up to see him and asked, "Peter?" Then Spider-Man went over to the cage, yanked the cage door off, and went to Venus. The two hugged as Venus cried. Then they heard sparklers inside the circus tent as they turned to see a group of thugs beginning to surround them. Spider-Man broke the chain off of Venus' collar and she got the collar off. She smiled as she then dashed off toward the thugs and began beating them up while Spider-Man watched. The thugs panicked as the punching, slapping, kicking, and scratching commenced. Finally Venus stuffed the thugs inside the cage as Spider-Man closed the cage door. Venus stretched out her arms and said, "It feels so good to get out of that cage and to see my boyfriend back here." She turned to see Spider-Man and asked, "So how did you get here? It was already a few hours when Demogoblin's vortex closed." Spider-Man asked, "A few hours? What do you mean?" Then Madame Web's voice answered, 'It seems this dimension has a different time zone than your dimension.' Venus asked, "Who is the old lady in my head? And what did she mean by 'different time zone'?" Then they saw the Goblin running inside a haunted house as Spider-Man suggested, "Can we talk about after we take down the Goblin?" Venus nodded as the two ran toward the haunted house.
When Spider-Man and Venus entered inside of the haunted house, they were surrounded by creepily smiling clown heads. They seemed to be doors as the mouths kept opening and shutting. "Which one did the Goblin go into?" asked Venus. Spider-Man then used his senses to detect which one was the right door. He pointed to the one that seemed to be the right one and the two walked to it. Spider-Man spun a few web lines on the clown head's mouth and began to pulling it open. He grabbed his girlfriend as they broke through the mouth and began falling into a tube.
They finally stopped as they landed on train rails and looked around to see twisted walls with creepy paintings and chandeliers on the ceiling. "WELCOME TO MY HOME!" greeted the Goblin's voice through the loudspeakers. Spider-Man and Venus nodded to each other as they walked on the railings to find the Goblin.
