*Rod Ross pov*
I'd expected Mello to be angry about being rejected, but he was mostly the same. I noticed moments when he seemed sad though, and the wistful looks he gave her when he thought no one was looking at him. It wasn't affecting his work so I hoped he'd be over it soon enough. It wasn't until I found him in crying in the closet that I realised how hurt he felt. He tried to deny it, blaming it on allergies which he'd never had before. I'm a tough guy but I couldn't help feel bad for him, so I decided to try help in some way. I pulled Y/N aside again.
"Listen, I know you don't want to date Mello, but I wondered if you'd just spend a little time with him after work. Just watch a movie or something, you can stay here, I'll be around too. Just give him a chance?"
"Uh, why?"
"Because he likes you and I think it would mean a lot to him."
I was ready to possibly issue it as an order, but her expression softened.
"Ok, I'll do it."
"Oh, great. I'll let him know."
"No, I'll ask him."
"Thanks Y/N."
"It's fine."
She seemed rattled by my words, I was glad I'd gotten through to her and hoped it would go ok for both of them.
