When I was ready I got into the car with my dad to go meet my future husband, not by choice.
"We're going to the latest hideout, it's near. He might want to take you out after." He glanced at me. "Or he might not."
"Yeah thanks," I said sarcastically.
I was started to worry I was a burden that my dad needed to get rid of. It's not like my parents ever tried to hide that I was an accident. A mistake more likely. I was probably lucky there was someone who could be forced to marry me, it's not like anyone would ever choose to. Oh god, what if he refused to, that would be so humiliating, can I just die now instead please?
"I told you not to sulk," He said.
"I'm not," I replied quietly.
My parents always thought I was "sulking" when I was actually just upset.
"We'll at least you didn't snap at me," He commented.
Yeah, I did that too when I was upset. I was starting to feel sorry for Mello now. Maybe my dad hated him so wanted to punish him. Or maybe, just maybe, it was my anxious mind over thinking as usual.
I should be more mellow. I laughed at my own joke and my dad sighed.
"Can your least try and appear normal?" He asked.
"Neveeeeeeer!" I said in a weird voice.
"Oh God," He groaned. "Maybe this wasn't a good idea."
"We'll it was your idea," I reminded him with a wicked grin.
"Don't be a smartass either."
"Stop telling me how to be. I'm me, and this Mello better love me," I decided with a sudden burst of confidence.
"Here we are," He pulled up outside an old warehouse.
I got out of the car and followed him inside [AN - I mean obviously, but I still have to write it, unless we teleported]
I'd been to a few of the hideouts (they had to move around to avoid being caught) They usually looked pretty much the same, though this one had fancy zebra print couches.
"Nice!" I approved.
"Mello chose them. See, you have something in common already. There he is, over on that couch," He pointed.
I looked and saw a blonde guy sitting with one foot up on the couch, his other leg bent to the side. He was speaking on a phone which someone held up to his ear. I waited with my dad and watched as he ordered the others around after he finished his phone call. When everyone else was busy, my dad brought me over to meet him. He was eating a big bar of chocolate now and I wanted some. I looked him over as I got closer. He was dressed in full leather, and red rosary beads. He had a chain thing linked from his pocket to the front of his pants and laces at the crotch. Not that I was checking it out or anything, but I totally was.
I didn't know if my dad was serious or messing with me, because this guy was so my type. If this was Mello I was already in Heaven.
"Mello, this is my daughter, Y/N. Y/N, this is Mello."
Mello looked up at me with the chocolate hanging out of his mouth. He was adorable. His blonde hair was cut in a perfect bob style and his clothes were awesome and his eyes were beautiful and and...yes, I was fangirling.
"Keep calm and be mellow, Y/N," I told myself.
Mello held a hand out, I shook it nervously but he didn't let go, he pulled me towards him and nodded for me to sit beside him. He took the chocolate out of his mouth with the other hand (he still held mine)
"Nice to meet you," He smiled at me. "You can leave us alone, I'll make sure she gets home safe."
"Ok, have a nice time," My dad gave me a warning look and left.
I almost started to worry that I'd been brought here for Mello to kill me (due to his use of the word safe) but we got talking before my mind could go there and I soon forgot.
He was charming and I was already enchanted.
[AN - I've decided he can be friendly and charming when he wants. He just doesn't want to be much lol. I've also decided he's a gentleman on a date, unless you count pointing his gun at you if you annoy him]
