Chapter Ten

James POV

I got in the morning up and went to my roomate's room and saw my roomate, asleep. I went up next to him and shook him softly.

"Sam... Sam get up." I muttered.

Sam woke up and yawned.

"We gotta go to class." I said.

Sam rubbed his eyes. "Too bad I ain't in the same class as you."

I nodded in agreement. Kinda.

"Ready to meet Thomas later today?" Sam asked.

"I don't know... I have school stuff.." I thought.

Thomas always took treating people overboard. He treats people like garbage. I follow the gang around to apologize to people. I never consider myself like them.

"Oh, come on, Maddy! It'll be fun!" Sam persuaded.

"Umm... fine." I gave in.

Sam clapped his hands and headed to get ready. I did as well.

I was sitting with Sam, George, and Charles. We all got our lunch. In the corner of my eye, I see Thomas screaming at someone. Everybody turned their heads to see.

"You deserve to be with me!" Thomas screamed. "Not with her!"

Maria was behind Hercules. Eliza was next to Maria, grabbing her hand. Maria was tremblimg as tears formed in her eyes.

"B-But I don't w-wanna be with y-you!" She wimpered.

"You do, you just don't wanna admit it to my face."

Thomas poked Maria's shoulder. Eliza pushed Thomas's hand away. Thomas slapped her arm back.

"GO THOMAS!" George cheered.
Sam and Lee grinned. I sighed and stood up, walking towards Thomas.

"You need someone better! Me!"

"Eliza!"

"ME!"

"ELIZA!"

"Thomas stop..." I muttered under my breath. He didn't hear me.

"ME! THOMAS JEFFERSON!"

"ELIZA! ELIZABETH SCHUYLER!"

"Thomas... stop!" I said. He still didn't hear me.

"GET AWAY FROM THAT PIG!"

"FOR THE LAST TIME, NO!"

"THOMAS, STOP!" I yelled with all my might.

Everyone stopped and looked at me.

"Woah... he talked." I heard Lafayette mutter.

"Same." Angelica responded.

"Thomas, this is rude! You need to stop!" I said.

I hugged Maria an 'im sorry hug' and did one to Eliza as well. I apologized to Hercules and he said it was fine.
Thomas gripped my shoulder and dug his nails into my skin. I winced.

"You're right, I need to save my energy." Thomas said.

He then put his mouth to my ear.

"Never do that again, you prick."

He pushed me away as he walked back to the table.

I stood there, all alone. No one wanted me because I was always with Thomas. I sat down on an empty table and began to draw. I helps me relax. That's when something hit my neck. I picked up the paper ball.

I looked over at Eliza and her table. They all nodded. Maria was still calming down, but I saw her slowly nod.

Glad to know someone appreciates me.

I was at my dorm, doing my work. Thomas "uninvited" me to go with the gang tonight. Pft, like I wanted to go anyway.
I studied for my tests and did my homework. That's when Sam barged in.

"That was so fun!" He yelled.

He closed the door and plopped on my bed. I closed my books and swirled around to see him.
"What'd you guys do?" I asked.

Sam closed his mouth with a pretend zipper. I nodded.

"But it was fun." He repeated.

I put my books in my bag.

"Hey, Maddy. Why did you stand up for that girl?" Sam asked.

I looked at him. Everyone asked me afterschool why, but I just ignored them.

"I... I don't know." I dodged the question.

"Come on, why?"

"I don't know, I felt like it."

"Well you better stop before you make us seem weak." Sam demanded.

He seemed like the updog here.
I nodded scaredly as he went to his room. He slammed my door shut.
