Natapos ang family lunch at buong oras ay nanahimik lang ako sa upuan ko. Max tried to talk to me pero hindi ko siya tinitignan.

"Thank you for coming," Ama said when we stood up to leave. Umaalis na rin ang iba dahil tapos na rin ang family lunch.

I just want to go home at mag-party. This family lunch drained me so much and I don't even know why. Parang hindi ko ata inakala na ganito ang mangyayari. Pero ano nga ba ang nangyari? Wala naman ah. I was just asked some questions by his relatives.

I admit, I felt a little out of place. I will never be one of them, and they won't like me as Euphoria. They will like me as Max's friend. Masyadong magka-iba ang mundong ginagalawan namin even if my family is in the corporate world as well. Alam ko sa sarili kong ayaw ko nun, and it's not my path.

"It's a pleasure po, thank you rin po. Happy birthday," sabi ko and then bowed a little.

"Call me Ama na rin, little one." Max's Ama smiled. She's nice and I know that. Talagang masyado lang siya intimidating with her stern face. I just smiled in reply.

"Uwi na po kami, Ama." Max said. He looked at his watch and I also glanced at it. It's already 5PM.

"Sige, wait for me here. Sandali lang," sabi ni Ama. Umalis na siya at naiwan kami ni Max doon. Agad akong nakaramdam ng hiya at awkwardness sa gitna naming dalawa.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry for bringing you here." Ani ni Max sa maliit na boses. His voice was calm and genuine na para bang may kasalanan siya saakin.

Bakit naman siya nagso-sorry? I don't know why I feel awkward like I'm guilty of something. It's frustrating me!

"Why are you sorry? I mean, mag kaibigan lang naman tayo pero why do I feel like may secret relationship tayo?" Natatawa kong sabi. Natatawa nga ba ako? Damn!

A smirk formed on his lips. "It's not that, Ria. Hindi ko nga naisip yun eh. Why? Yun ba ang naiisip mo?"

"No!" Agad kong sinabi defensively. He chuckled when he saw my reaction. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay and then his amused smirk turned in to a sweet smile.

"I'm sorry for the questions from my relatives. And just so you know, I won't ever approve of the marriage kay Chantelle man or sa ibang babae." He looked at me, his eyes were deep and drowning. Agad ako nag-iwas ng tingin.

"Max, I have no say sa kahit anong decision mo in your life. I'm your friend, and together with Red I'll be here to support you in whatever you do. Marry her if you want or turn their suggestions down if you don't. She's a nice girl, Max." I said.

Natahimik kaming dalawa. Gusto ko pa sana dumagdag pero hindi ko na alam kung ano pa ang sasabihin ko.

"But I don't like her," aniya sa pagod na boses.

His gaze was intense that it was too much for me. Para akong pinapako sa kinatatayuan ko.

"Max! You're going back to BGC right? Isabay mo na si Chantelle." bigla naman dumating si Ama, holding Chantelle. I looked at them and smiled.

"Sure po, Ama." Max smiled.

"Ingat kayo! Ihatid mo siya after ni Ria okay?" Pahabol ni Ama. Of course, nirereto niya talaga si Chantelle kay Max. Mauuna nalang ako bumaba siguro.

Hindi na nagsalita si Max and we said our goodbyes. Nag-lakad na kami papunta sa car and I smiled at Chantelle. She also smiled at me.

I don't want her to think like I'm a witch in her fairytale because I'll never be. I don't like Max and I want to assure her na wala ako dito para sirain kung ano man ang dapat mabuong relationship sakanilang dalawa.
