Kaharap ko si Chantelle ngayon sa isang cafe, just like before. I don't know what she wants to talk about pero sumama ako sakanya. It's not like I have another choice, it would be immature for me to decline.

There was an awkward silence between us, and we both continued to breathe heavily.

"Were you with him yesterday?" She asked, breaking the silence.

Tumingin ako sakanya and I saw that she was looking directly at my eyes. Hindi ako nag-iwas ng tingin at saka tumango.

"Yeah."

Hindi siya nag-salita nung sinabi ko yun. She just nodded. This is what I hate about dealing with Chantelle. I mean, there are times when I can't hate her because she's not exactly the villain type na masama ang ugali.

"Are you two.. back together?" Tanong niya ulit. She took a long pause before saying the latter part.

"Yeah, you could say that.." sambit ko. My voice was calm but not hesitant. I'm sure that we're back together and I have no plans on hiding it again.

It's just that, I know we'll need more time. But I'm ready for anything. I will not do the same mistakes I did before. Mahirap man, lalaban pa rin ako para sakanya.

"Does he know everything?"

I nodded. She just looked at me at ganon rin naman ako. Natigil ang usapan namin pag dating ng waiter para ilapag ang inumin na inorder namin.

The waiter left, at binalot ulit kami ng katahimikan. The place was empty kaya sobrang tahimik sa loob.

"I told him everything, pero naayos pa rin namin in the end."

My voice came out rather confident at hindi iyon sadya. I was just that convinced na ganon nga ang nangyare at gusto ko yun sabihin sakanya because I remembered how she use the past against me.

"How sure are you na naayos na ang lahat? How sure are you that everything will flow smoothly after getting Max?" Sarcasm was evident on her voice.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang gusto niyang sabihin. I don't know if nanakot ba siya o talagang nagtatanong lang.

"I know things won't be easy," I told her. "But knowing that we'll face it together is a good start for me."

She didn't say anything for a few seconds pero bigla siya ngumiti sakin. There was something with her smile that creeped me out. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay when she started laughing slowly.

"Are you hearing yourself?" Tanong niya. "What face it together are you talking about?"

Umayos ako ng upo at tinaasan siya ng kilay. The look on her face was sarcastic and it was obvious that she's mocking me.

"I don't have to repeat myself. Now if you'll excuse me--" akmang tatayo na ulit ako pero pinigalan niya ako.

"Do you know where he is right now?"

Umupo ulit ako sa upuan at saka tumingin sakanya. I shot her a look and she looked at me na para bang hinahamon ako. Max told me he was busy today because he had to take care of some thing pero hindi ko alam if that's work related.

"He said he was busy," sagot ko.

"Did he tell you why?" Agad na tanong niya. When I didn't answer for a few seconds, bigla siyang nag-salita ulit. "He didn't, right?"

Hindi ako naka-sagot because she was right. Hindi sinabi sakin ni Max kung nasaan siya and he didn't elaborate on what was that thing he was busy with. I can't blame him since I didn't ask him further about it.
