CHAPTER 49
SecretsI decided to go earlier than the scheduled time. Hindi ko sinabi sakanya na mauuna na ako because I wanted to rehearse the things I'm going to tell him later. I wore a flowy red dress with heels since it's a fancy dinner.
"Ma'am, this way po.." the waiter said as he escorted me to our table.
I picked a table near the windows para makita ang view of the city lights. The restaurant is inside a hotel and we're on the 30th floor.
I sat down on the table at saka tumingin sa relo ko. It's already 7pm and he would be here any minute now. The view is breathtaking and wala rin gaanong tao sa loob kaya tahimik.
Everything is ready, ako nalang ang hindi. My hands are shaking and my heartbeat was doubled. I took a deep breath and tried to act natural as possible. It's Max, Ria. You don't have to lie anymore because he will understand you.
I'm not scared to tell him the truth because of the fact that I lied about everything. Takot ako dahil nasaktan ko siya and once a person is hurt, even though you don't have bad intentions, a lot can change.
The doors of the restaurant opened and I have never been this anxious. Seeing him walk towards me holding a bouquet of flowers with a big smile on his face, wearing a white button down with the sleeves folded up to his elbows and black pants made my heart flutter. He smiled at me.
"Why are you here? I'm 5 minutes early!" He told me as he sat down.
He looks so disappointed that I was here early and it made me chuckle.
Ngumiti ako sakanya at saka kinuha ang flowers. They were beautiful. It's only 7:25 and I know he'd come early because he wants to wait for me.
"I wanted to wait for you," I told him.
He smiled and it touched my heart. He ran his fingers through his hair while giving me his killer smile. My heart fluttered once again, like a little kid in love.
"But that's my job," he said.
The waiter came to give us the menu. Tumingin siya sakin and asked me what I wanted before ordering his. I looked at him as he talked to the waiter at napa-ngiti. He's such a gentleman.
Tumingin ulit siya sakin pag-alis ng waiter. I can't stop myself from admiring everything about him. His flawless complexion, his red lips, his chinky eyes, his pointy nose, his adam's apple.. everything. He's too perfect inside and out and I will probably question his reason for loving someone like me when he can do so much better.
"Marco and I went out to play golf with Dad the whole day," he said.
Tumango ako at saka uminom ng tubig. Kaya pala wala rin si Mr. Chairman kanina. They were out in the office but it was okay because it gave me more time to think about the things I'll say later.
"Really? Marco doesn't look like he plays golf," I laughed.
"He doesn't. Taga kuha lang siya ng bola and water."
We both laughed.
Umayos siya ng upo at ako naman ay nag-lean sa table. The lights are dimmed inside the hotel so we'd get a better view of the city below us.
Everything feels so surreal and romantic. The years that we spent apart doesn't matter anymore.
"Are you going to tell me your answer now?" he asked me while smiling.
