Chapter 46
She's back
Max did not come out of the bathroom kaya tinulog ko nalang ang naghuhuramentado kong puso. I still can't believe na nangyari yun kagabi. That's my first time.
My cheeks feel hot and my chest tightens pag naalala ko ang nangyari kagabi. I don't even know how to face him anymore and yet isang buong araw nanaman kaming magkasama.
I woke up early the next morning. In fact, wala pang araw pero nagising na ako. I looked around but the room was already empty.
After showering, bumaba ako kaagad to look for Max. When I got down, si Lian lang amg nasa table and she's eating breakfast. The house was oddly quiet and the other Salvatorres are not around.
"Good morning, Ate!" Lian greeted me.
"Good morning! Asan sila?" I asked as I sat down in front of her to eat breakfast.
"They went out to ride the horses. Marunong pala si Mr. Limjuaco? They said they'll be back before 8," she replied.
I ate breakfast with Lian. We still have an hour to go kaya naman she led me to her room muna. When I got inside, I felt like I'm suddenly walking in to a Princess' room because the walls are painted in pink and cream.
In front of her bed, merong mini library near her desk and meron din siyang sarili sofa set. In the middle of the room, there's a big white fluffy carpet. Meron din siyang balcony where kitang kita ang magandang beach of Soleado.
"Your room is so pretty," I said.
Pinaupo niya ako sa bed niya. "Thank you. My brothers helped me in designing this."
Her hair flew down her shoulders at hanggang stomach niya ito. It's unusually darker today and maybe that's because kakaligo lang niya. She really looks like a Princess lalo na with her doll eyes and long lashes.
"Kailan ka pupunta ng Maynila?" I asked her.
"Hmm. Siguro after high school. I'm almost done! This is my last year kaya excited ako," she said in a happy tone.
Ngumiti ako sakanya pabalik. For sure if this girl steps in Manila, marami kaagad ang magkakagulo sakanya. I hope I'll be there to guide her though because she's super innocent.
"May bahay kayo dun?"
She nodded. "Yup! Kuya Kari and Kuya Zion lives there with my grandma. Hindi pa ako pumupunta doon not even for vacation."
"Why?"
"I don't know. Dad doesn't want me to be like my brothers who party a lot eh," she smiled.
Lian's family is full of successful architects and engineers. Kilala rin sila sa Manila for they have established such a good image of their works. I'm sure the Salvatorres are strict when it comes to Lian lalo na siya lang ang nag-iisang babae ng family nila.
"Oh they are here na!"
I looked at her habang nakasilip siya sa malaking veranda niya. She waved at them habang naka-ngiti. I wish I'm full of happiness like her.
Lumapit siya ulit sakin at inabot ang kamay niya. "Before we go, can you save your cellphone number here?"
Ngumiti ako at saka nag-angat ng tingin. I took her cellphone at agad na tinype ang number ko. "If you'll go in Manila, just hit me up okay?"
She nodded excitedly. "Yes!"
I stood up at sabay kami lumabas ng kwarto niya. But before we reached the stairs, she quickly held my hand and stopped walking.
