Chapter 16

Perfect

After eating, nagstay pa kami for the dessert. Lahat kami napatingin sa maliit na stage ng biglang nagsalita ang manager ng bar.

"Hi everyone, we would like to have volunteers for our open-mic tonight.. there's a prize, and that is.... dessert is on us.." the woman said while smiling.

"You just have to sing any song, you can also have a duet if you guys want.."

Tumingin ang mga kaibigan ko sakin, and sila Kaila naman ay tumingin kay Max. They all know na maganda ang boses ni Max since he always sing dati if may event sa building nila in the University.

"Omg, Max! Please sing for us!!" Sigaw nila Kaila. Lahat ng girls ay nakatingin kay Max ngayon. Umiling lang siya and he smiled while looking down.

"Sample!" His friends cheered. Tumingin ako sakanya at ngumiti, yeah he should sing tonight for us! Niyugyog siya nila Brian while forcing him to sing for the dessert. Tumawa naman kami.

"Alright!" He said at lahat naghiyawan. Tinaas ko ang kilay ko when he stopped to look at me.. what is he up to?!

"Only if... Ria will sing with me."

"What?!" I cried. Tumingin ako sakanya but he just smiled and he just folded his arms, as if waiting for my decision.

Lahat sila napatingin sakin at nanlaki naman ang mata ko. My friends agreed with Max and they all cheered. Ngayon, parehas na kami pinipilit kumanta sa harap. I looked at Max and now he's smiling triumphantly so inirapan ko siya.

"Let's go Ria!!!" Cassie cheered.

Tumayo si Max at inantay ako tumayo. People are staring at us at nakakahiya naman if I declined so tumayo nalang din ako. Damn you, Maxon!

"Let's go?" Max asked while smiling. I took his hand and I sighed, kainis ka!

We walked papunta sa stage and then inabot ni Max ang guitar from the staff. I looked around and saw na hindi lang pala kami ang tao inside. Super dami and they are all watching us! I glanced over our table at lahat sila naka-ngiti, except for Chantelle who's just looking at us.

"What should we sing?" I asked him habang umupo kami sa bar stool near the mic.

"Perfect.." he said and then he smiled. Umupo siya at nag-start na mag-strum ng guitar. I looked at him and his hands na kinakalabit ang bawat strings of the guitar, he looks so peaceful while doing it and I can't help but be captivated by what I'm seeing.

"I found a love.... for me.." he started singing. His voice was so cold as usual, the one that makes you feel so sleepy. Tumahimik ang lahat and only his voice can be heard from the whole bar.

"... I found a girl, beautiful and sweet. I never knew you were that someone.. waiting for me.."

He looked at me and I stared at him back. Lahat ay naghiyawan because of the kilig. Hindi ko na alam if it's only our table o pati na rin ang mga nanunuod. I looked at him and the butterflies in my stomach were alive once again..
