Chapter Twenty-One
•Taylor's Point of View•
August 31st 2013
I wake up with my foot in agony, only to find out Ellie and Sam are gone. There's a tray above my body and a piece of paper laid on it- I can tell it's Ellie's writing just by faintly seeing such loopy cursive writing on it.
I sit up so I can see what's been written on the paper, and smile as I see the paper. Ellie definitely wrote this.
Taylor, we left to check on Penny. Hopefully will be back shortly after you're awake. Love, Ellie x
I rubbed my eyes, hoping to get the sleep out of them. I'm still tired despite having a nap.
I see the clock with the small hand resting on the five. It couldn't be five already.
I wonder what time Ellie and Sam left me? I don't think much more about it, they'll be back soon.
I see a muffin and a hot chocolate resting on the bed-side table- the hot chocolate is probably cold chocolate now though.
Surprisingly, it's luke warm as I take it in my hands and place it on the tray above me. Then setting myself up as I grab the muffin and place it down on the tray as well.
I take a sip of the beverage and sigh happily as the liquid travels down my dry throat.
I had forgot most of what had happened before this moment. I just remembered Ellie and I had definitely made up. It was hard not to love her, you can't just not.
I understood her points that she had made, that I remembered. She cared about me too much to see me go down the same road as her. I, however, was not planning on dying my hair black like she had told me she had done, so she didn't need to worry- much.
My door was soon knocked on, and my head whipped around as soon as Sam and Ellie were revealed.
"Sorry we took a long time, love. We took Penny for a walk." Ellie smiled as she grabbed a chair and sat down. You could tell she had gone for a walk and wasn't lying, because she had a slight glimmer to her complexion, and Sam was about the same.
"I just woke up anyways, it's fine." I smiled
"While we're here, the doctor said you can come back to my house again tomorrow, under strict rules of not running though. He doesn't want to see you back here unless it's to get your stitches removed in a week. You still have to be careful on it though, Tay." Sam stated and I rolled my eyes.
"There's no need for me to even think about running, Sam." I said awkwardly, knowing Ellie was right beside me, sitting in a chair. Fully aware of what I meant, "do you have my phone, Ellie?" I asked changing the subject quickly afterwards.
"Your mobile? Yeah, give me a second to get it out from my bag." She smiled, as if she hadn't of even heard the first part of what I had said.
She handed me my phone and a charger and the first thing I saw was countless messages from Hannah on the device.
I quickly as I possibly could, answered her with a simple 'Screw you.'
Me drinking was her fault, me getting in trouble was her fault then, which meant me almost almost getting smacked by Ellie was her fault- I shouldn't blame Hannah for this. I made those poor decisions that lead to what happened. It's my fault.
"I can't stress over how sorry I am, Ellie." I looked into her eyes and she smirked and she shook her head.
"Let's just forget about what happened. Okay, love?" She asked, hoping my answer would be yes. Of course I was going to reply a yes, but how could somebody just forget about something like that when the guilt had been eating them away. The guilt of knowing what happened, happened because you had been stupid enough to let it happen.
