CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW

I wanted to have a conversation with Tony about something very important but apart of me didn't really wanna bring it up. I know that he has to work a lot and he has things to do but a little help around the house would be nice sometimes. It's just so overwhelming trying to do so many things by myself, while being pregnant. I was happy when he asked if it was okay if he was to pick Caiya up after school because that was more weight that I needed off of my back. I mean- I know that this is his first week back working and actually going full force into the job but I can't do everything by myself. Actually, I've been doing things by myself for a long time. Ever since I put off so many plays to make him happy, I've been at home with Cai. Now- let me get this straight, I have absolutely no problem taking care of my baby at all. I love Cai and I'll drop any and everything to be with her whenever for however long. I'm just starting to feel like I'm the only person in this house who has absolutely nothing going on. Of course I have BVM but that's only one day out of the week. What else can I do? Just being in this house planning for BVM 24/7 and that's all? I can't continue to be stuck in here. Then I thought about something....helping Cassi Davis out. I've heard some things about her holding some plays for young people. Maybe I could help her out and do some things that would keep me busy...but not too busy. So, I called her. "Hi, Cassi!" I said as I smiled. "Hey, Cheryl. I miss you so much! How are you?" Cassi asked me in a very excited voice. "I am doing pretty alright. How about you?" I asked her as I went upstairs and laid in the bed. "Uhhmmm, I am great. How is that baby Cai of yours?" She asked me. "Girl, my baby is growing up so fast. She isn't as short as she was the last time you saw her. She's actually starting to look a little bit more like her Daddy." I said as I looked up at the ceiling and held the phone against my ear. "Nope, I bet that she is starting to look more and more like you." Cassi said. "Want me to send you a picture?" I asked her. "Yes, go ahead and do it now so that I could see it." She requested. I took the phone away from my ear and searched through my phone to send her a cute picture of Caiya. "Okay, I sent it. You should get it any second, Cassi." I said as I put the phone back up against my ear. It was then silent. "Oh my-....Cheryl, she looks just like you and Tony. You can't pick a side. That baby looks just like the both of you." She said. I laughed. "Shemar thinks that she looks just like me but honestly, I think that she is ALL Tony." I said. "Well, that is her Daddy." Cassi agreed. "Anyways, how is Shemar?" She asked me. "He's doing pretty well. The last time I saw him was when he came to support me at BVM." I said. "You two always use to be inseparable. Wherever you went, he went. He doesn't like anybody messing around with his main baby girl. I'm surprised that the two of you didn't get married before Tony cake along." She said. "Yeah, but friendship is just the best way for us." I added. "Therefore, before Tony- we did talk about it." I said. "And how is your man?" Cassi asked me. "He's doing pretty well, actually. He's at work right now." I told her. "You two need to have some more beautiful babies." Cassi said. I smiled. "Yep, I'm pregnant right now." I said as I touched my stomach. "Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy for the two of you. Now Cai can have somebody to play and fuss with." Cassi said as she laughed. "Oh no. I'm not ready for any fussing. I already see it coming." I said as I laughed. "Well, get ready Mommy." She said as she laughed with me. We were both then silent on the phone. "Cheryl...." Cassi said. "Yes?" I asked. "Is Tony still treating you-.....ya know. I remember a while ago, you sounded like you hated the man." She said. I took a deep breath. "Yeah but we are both getting better together. I don't know- maybe this baby will help us grow back and stronger." I said as I turned on my side. "That's good. Babies do bring happiness." She said. "Yeah, although- when I first told him that I was pregnant, he wasn't that excited. At that time we were going through a lot and we even did marriage counseling." I said. "Why wasn't he excited about the baby?" She asked me. "Because he thought that a baby wasn't what we needed at that time. I kinda agreed with him but there was nothing that we could do about it. It was already done." I said. "Right but on the bright side- you two are doing great." Cassi said. "Right." I said. "Also, I need to ask you something." I said. "What's that?" She said. "Can I help you with the young teens for your play?" I asked her. "Of course. They would love to meet and work with you. Plus, I need all the help that I couldn't get." Cassi said. "Whew, I was hoping that you would let me. While Cai is at school, I need something to work on." I said. "Yeah, you free tomorrow?" She asked me. "Of course." I said. "Well, you can help us with something tomorrow." She said. "Thank you so much." I said as I smiled to myself. "I gotta go, Cheryl. But, call me tomorrow morning and I'll give you the directions." Cassi said. "Okay, see you tomorrow. Love you." I said. "I love you too." She said back. We both then hung up. Just as I hung up, my family came in the door. "Mommy!" Cai yelled from downstairs. I got out of bed. Mommy business has began. "Yes, baby?" I said as I walked downstairs. "I drew you something again." She said as she met me at the bottom of the stairs and handed me the drawing while smiling really big. "It's beautiful, baby girl." I said as I smiled and looked at it. "Daddy likes it too." She said as she look off her backpack and placed it on the stairs. "See, the back?" She said as she came back over towards me after she put her backpack down. "I see. Caiya, what did I say about your backpack? Take it upstairs and put it in your room." I said. "Okay, Mommy." She said as she went to go and get her backpack. "Hey, babe." Tony said as he came around the corner and gave me a kiss. "Hey, husband." I said after I gave him a kiss. "She showed you her drawing?" He asked me as he held my hand. "Yeah, She did." I said as I watched Cai go upstairs. "How are you feeling, baby?" He asked me as he touched my stomach. "Oh, I'm fine." I said as I smiled at him and touched his face. "You sure?" He asked me. "Of course. I feel absolutely fine." I said. "Do you want me to make dinner?" He asked me. "Uhmm, I got it. I was just about to do it anyways." I said. "How about this- I'll help you. Maybe Cai could do a lil something too? Just the entire family making dinner." He said. "Let's do it." I said. "Allllright. I'll go and get Cai. I'm about to get out of this suit and I'll be back." He said. "Okay." I said as I left and went into the kitchen to get everything set up.

              A FEW MINUTES LATER

"Alright." Tony said as he came in the kitchen with Cai on his neck. I turned around to look at them. "Put my baby down." I said as I looked at them. "She said that she's not a baby anymore." Tony said as he laughed. "Right." Cai said as she looked down at Tony. "I don't care. You're gonna be my baby until you leave this house. And even after then. Tony.....come on. Put her down so that we can start." I said. Tony sighed. "Come on, baby girl. Mommy wants me to put you down." Tony said as he put Cai down on the counter. "But before we start....we gotta do what Cai?" Tony asked her. "We gotta....." Cai said as she started to think to herself. "You know this. Come on..." Tony said as he smiled at her. He then looked over towards me and then back at Cai. I looked at Cai to see what she was gonna say. "Uhmmm." She said as she looked back at me. "You know this, baby. Don't look at me." I said as I smiled at her. "I don't know, Daddy." She said as she turned back around to look at Tony and started whining. "Yes you do. You gotta wash..." Tony said as he looked at her and smiled. "Wash our hands?" Cai said as she took a guest. "Good job, Daddy's baby." Tony said as he helped her down. "Good job, baby." I said as I smiled. "Let's go. Wash our hands. Wash our hands." Tony sang with her as he picked Cai up to wash their hands. I just looked at them. That was so sweet. I love the both of them with my entire heart. Moments like this makes me the happiest- us being together. "Okay, it's Mommy's turn." Tony said. "Uhmmm, I already washed my hands." I said as I gave him a look. Tony then gave me a hug from behind. He then looked at Cai. "Should she wash her hands too, baby girl?" He asked her. Cai put a finger on her chin. "Hmmmm." She said. "Yep." Cai said as she started to laugh. "Fine. I'll wash my hands again." I said as Tony let me go. "Good job." Tony said as he looked at me. I gave him a look. "I love you." He said. "I love you too....I guess." I said as I turned the water on. "You guess?" He said as he ran over towards me and started to tickle me. I started laughing and tried to remove his hands. Cai then jumped in and started to tickle Tony. We both then tickled Tony and he couldn't stop laughing. "That's what you get." I said as I stopped. Tony then leaned down and hugged Cai while Cai was still laughing. Tony then stood up straight and gave me a kiss.
