CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW

When I woke up, my head was spinning. My senses were off again. Lord, I hated this feeling. The feeling of nausousness started to kick in. I started to think to myself as I held on tightly to the sheets while I sat up in bed. The fall and when I hit my head still had an effect on me. The doctor said that it would probably be like this for a moment but its been almost 6 months now. It doesn't feel normal or comfortable. I slowly stood up and waited for my head to stop spinning before actually trying to walk. I'm pretty sure that Tony was already up with the baby and Cai- so, I tried to get myself up to go spend some time with them. I put my hand up towards my temple and closed my eyes as I took a few steps. My head was literally pounding and my forehead felt super hot. I decided to get some pain medication after I freshened up a little bit and brushed my teeth. Afterwards, I went downstairs prepared to eat something quick before taking the pill.

"Mommy!" Cai yelled as she saw me walk into the kitchen. I stopped in my steps, held my temple again and waited from the stinging pain to stop. Cai's yell made it start all over again.

Tony stopped in the middle of drinking his coffee and looked over towards me.

"Baby-...you good?" He asked. Even his low voice made my head pound.

"Mhm, yes. Hi, baby girl and i'm-...i'm fine Tony." I told him as I started walking over towards the refrigerator to get some water. Tony watched my every move.

"Cai, you ready to go over grandma's house?" Tony asked Cai as he stopped looking at me and started to look in her direction. My head started pounding again.

"Shit." I said really silently and quickly as I held my forehead in my hand for a while. I quickly put the water bottle down and put my free hand on the counter to lean on.

"Okay, Cheryl. You need to go to the doctor." Tony said as he walked over towards me and put his hands on my waist to help hold me up.

"I'm fine." I told him as I put my hand up.

He looked at me and then touched my head.

"No, you're not. You're burning up, baby." He said in a very, very concerned voice.

His voice felt like it was slowly killing me. Each word that he said made my head pound and it felt like he stuck me with a knife through the conversation.

"Okay, Fine. I'll go." I told him as I stood up straight and saw Cai at the kitchen table just looking over at the two of us.

I looked back at Tony next to me with embarrassment in my face.

"Just-...just take Cai and I'll go. I feel like I'm scaring her right now." I whispered to Tony as I grabbed his hand.

"She's fine. I'll take her. Go and let me know what they say, alright?" Tony said as he softly kissed my temple. His kiss made me feel better already. The care that came through it.

I nodded my head and made my way over towards Cai. Tony went to get Ciyle ready. I squatted down in front of her and looked down at her shoes to make sure that they were tied and that she was ready to go.

"Cai, Mommy is gonna be fine, Okay? Don't worry about me. I just have a headache and it's normal." I told her as I forced a small smile. It doesn't feel normal.

"I know, Mommy." She said as she put her hands on both sides of my head and gave me a kiss square in the middle of my forehead.

I smiled at her gesture.

"Mommy feels better already." I said as I touched the side of her face and then stood up. She smiled at me and jumped down from sitting in the chair.
