CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW

                  THE NEXT MORNING

"Cai..." I said as I kissed her forehead to try to wake her up for school. She opened her eyes and then pulled the covers over her head as she turned the other way. "Baby girl...you need to get up. I know that you're probably still upset about yesterday but that stuff isn't true. You know this." I said as I waited for her to sit up. She pulled the covers from over her head and just looked at me. I gave her a look as well. She always gave me a look whenever she just really didn't care. "Do you want me to call you Daddy in here?" I then said as she was still not getting up to get dressed. After I mentioned Tony coming in here, she jumped out of bed in a hurry. I just shook my head because she never liked it when Tony got frustrated with her. She didn't care if I did because she's really just a Daddy's Girl. When she was little, I wished that she would grow up to be a Mommy's girl but Tony won her little heart. Nothing is wrong with that because I am absolutely a Daddy's girl myself. I love my Momma too though...no doubt about that. As Caiya went to go do her morning things and get dressed, I walked back into my room to get dressed. Today, I chose to take my baby to school because I wanted to talk to her about some more things in private. I knew that if Tony was around she would be shy because she never likes to talk about things that were sensitive to her. She might be a Daddy's girl but she always talks to me about any and everything. Isn't that the way it should be? Yeah. As I came around the corner, Tony jumped in front of me and gave me a kiss on the lips. "Good morning, Mommy." He said as he broke the kiss and smiled at me. "annnnd, Good Morning, Daddy's little man." He said as he kneeled down and gave my belly a soft kiss. He then stood up and gave me a hug. I smiled again because he's always being so sweet. The effort that he's showing now is very surprising because I knew at one point that he didn't have any effort to offer me. "Is baby girl up?" He asked me as I walked away. "Uhmm, Yeah. She kinda has a little attitude with me this morning. Trust me, she won't after I drive her to school." I said as I started to get dressed. "One Of those long ass talks, huh?" Tony asked me. "Yes because of what she talked to me about the other day. Well...I'll just explain it to you later. I have no problem with her explaining that her feelings are hurt. I mean, I want her to do that. It's just that attitude is getting up there and I'm not gonna have it. She gave me the look this morning...." I said as I stopped What I was doing and looked at Tony. Tony tried not to laugh. "See...it's your fault too. You taught her how to do that. You should be ashamed." I said as I looked away. Tony laughed. "You have a little attitude this morning too. Maybe Caiya got it from you...." he admitted. I turned around and dropped my mouth at him. I then started to laugh. "Yeah...maybe you're right." I said. Tony just shook his head. Caiya then ran into our room and jumped on Tony. "Good morning, Daddy's Baby Girl!" He said as he picked her up and kissed her on her cheek. "Hey, Daddy." She said as she smiled. "You gonna stop growing for me or what?" He then asked her as he tickled her side while he held her. She laughed and hugged his neck. "I can't stop growing." She then said as he stopped ticking her. I just looked over at them and smiled.

               TONY's POINT OF VIEW  

"How about this? After school...you, me, Mommy, and the baby can do something together? Maybe draw? Uhmmm....well, anything that you wanna do." I said as I put her down. "Can Shemar come too?" Cai asked me. I started to look confused because she never wanted Shemar to be involved with out family things. "Uhm, if Mommy says that it's okay..." I said as I looked over towards Cheryl. Cheryl looked at me and then towards Cai. "Baby...I'm pretty sure that Shemar has other things that he's doing tonight." She explained. "I know but he came to my art class yesterday. We haven't seen each other in a while and when he came yesterday, he didn't say hi." Cai said as she started to look sad. Cheryl sighed and put her hand on her head. "Sure, baby. I'll call him and see what he says. No promises that he can come, Okay?" She told Cai. Cai gave Cheryl a hug and then left to go get dressed. As Cai left, I closed the door. "Cheryl...you didn't tell me that Shemar came the other day." I said. Cheryl turned and looked at me. "Well, Cai needed someone other than me to be there to support her. I knew that she loves Shemar, so- I invited him." She told me. I nodded. "I don't really know how to feel about that, honestly." I said. "Tony, what do you mean that you don't know how to feel about that?" She asked me. "Another man taking my spot. That's what." I said as I kept my voice down. She looked at me with a confused facial expression. "Maybe, if you were there? She wouldn't want Shemar to come." She then said as she walked off.

I'll admit. Whenever Shemar came around, I got jealous. The way he looked at Cheryl made me upset. Now, my baby girl wants him to come around more often. I don't know about that....
Sometimes best friends are the ones you gotta really watch. A male best friend to a woman is sometimes looking for something  more than friendship. I'm not sure what Shemar's intentions are.

"Baby, I mean...I'm fine with it. I just...don't want him to come to everything. It's my job. I know that I've been busy but imma make more time to do to my baby girls things." I explained to her. She didn't say anything after I said that.
"Let him come then..." I then said even though I didn't want to say it. "If Cai wants him to come, I'm asking him to come." She then said.

This is going to be a long and uncomfortable night...
