"He's got minor injuries on his left leg and right arm, luckily the tests doesn't show any damage in his brain." Jihoon could hear the doctor talk to his mother as he slowly walked along the white lit hallways, the bright lights were somewhat blinding him, making him dizzy and his knees weak.
As he got closer to them, tears started to fall one by one, he knew his dad was going to be okay but it hurt him seeing his dad in that state.
"Thank you." And with that, the doctor left."Mom . . " He whispered, lips quivering. His mother quickly turned to him and pulled Jihoon in to a tight hug, his vision became blurry as tears rapidly escaped his eyes.
"Can I see him?" Jihoon asked as he pulled away from the hug, his mother wiped her tears and nodded, stepping aside for him. He gave his mother one last look before walking up to the door and twisting the knob.
A small gap was only opened but he could clearly see his father laying down on the hospital bed, bruises and scratched on his face, his arm wrapped up and so was his legs.
He hesitated to go in but he stepped inside the sun lit room, nonetheless. "Dad . ." Jihoon called out ⏤fully knowing he wouldn't hear a thing as he's deep asleep⏤
Jihoon slowly made his way to his dad, slowly sitting down on the chair next to his bed. The boy held his hand and examined his father's face thoroughly.
"Hang in there, you'll be okay, everything will be okay . ." He sighed, caressing his father's limp hand.
With that, he stood up and quietly walked out of the silenced room, he needed to give his father some space. "What's wrong, Mom?" Jihoon asked as he examined his mother.
She was sitting down on one of the metal benches against the wall, her face buried in her own palms. His mother looked up, "It's just that . . we don't have enough money to pay the hospital fees and we can't not get your father treated." She sighed.
He pulled her in to a hug, rubbing circles on her back, "We'll find a way."
To be honest, he didn't know what else to do to get such amount of money. He only gets paid a fair amount of money from his job back at the Café which would take months to pay off with that money.
His mother also earned a fair amount of money but it still wasn't enough to just pay it within a day or two.
It was surely going to take them a lot of time to pay it off which was okay if they had more money to pay the bills for their house and also buy food weekly.
But it wasn't, they also needed to pay those off other than the hospital fee.
"I'll try work as often to get more hours." Jihoon sighed, despite his body being drained because of both school and work, he needed to do this. He needed to do this for his very own father.

"It was really nice hanging out again with you Dae, we should do it again next time." Minji smiled as they just finished eating another round of food, "Fun for you because I paid." He playfully scoffed but laughed, nonetheless.
"But we actually should, I missed these moments. I'll see you tomorrow." Daehwi replied, holding on to her fingers, ⏤not letting go⏤ waiting for her to reply.
"See you." Minji smiled, her best friend returned the smile and let go of her fingers, slowly walking backwards. "Alright. Bye, Min!" He waved before turning around and walking away, "Bye!" She called out before turning around aswell.
As Minji stepped inside her house, she quickly jogged up to her room and pressed 'call' beside Jihoon's name.
The girl felt very excited about sharing her good news to Jihoon, she was very pleased herseld that her and Daehwi were back to normal.
Being apart from her best friend brought her so much pain, she can't last a day without talking to him nor hearing his corny jokes. She was going to admit it, she can't live with out her best friend.
She can't live without Daehwi.
He had been the one who always stuck next to her like there was some kind of glue between them, he had been the one who always listened to her problems no matter how little or big it was, he was always there for her and vice versa.
Daehwi meant so much to her that she can't afford losing a precious friend like him.
"Hey Bub . ." Jihoon softly spoke on the other side of the line, somewhat sending chills down her spine.
"Are you okay? You sound stressed." Minji plopped on her bed, worry laced in her tone. He let out a soft sigh, "I'm fine, what was it that you wanted to talk about?"
"Oh, anyway . . Me and Daehwi's little hangout went well! Y'know, just some best friend things." She laughed, trying to ease the tension Jihoon was giving out through the phone.
"Ah . . T-that's great! I'm so happy you two are in good terms again." Jihoon dryly chuckled, trying to convince Minji that he was fine but she knew well that it was a forced one.
"Are you sure you're okay? You sound really down, I'm always here for-" "I'm okay, Minji. Nothing's wrong. Trust me." "Do you trust me?" Jihoon asked.
"I trust you . . Do you trust me?" Minji replied. "Yes, of course I do, Bub." "Well, I have to go now . . I'll see you tomorrow, Bub." And with that, she ended the call, unsatisfied.
Minji still felt that something was very wrong about Jihoon's mood, she could just feel it. There was definitely something wrong.
Indeed something very different.
