CHAPTER 44

So don't be sick, don't cry.

Woojin can't lie to me, right? Minji thought.

Guilt washed over his body, he clenched his hands in to fists. Jihoon turned to look at Woojin, waiting for his answer. Woojin took one last glance at Jihoon before swallowing his pride and nodding at Minji's question.

"Yes, I knew about Rae and Jihoon . ." He softly spoke, waiting for the most to come at him. It felt like he would never see tomorrow.

Minji dryly chuckled. She couldn't believe what she just heard, all this time, all this time, he knew about the truth.

"You knew yet you didnt tell me!? Didn't you see how much I blamed myself!? Yet you just watched me break down and cry when it wasnt my fault!" "It's not that Minj⏤" "Then what Woojin!? Then what!? Is it that hard to grasp when someone just needs to know whats going on? I can't believe you two."

"I'm sorry I lied to you." He lowered his head.

"You should be. If I knew that Jihoon actually liked me then I would've sorted this out with him without any arguing! But no, it's too late now. It's been a month now, keeping a lie from someone that long . ." Minji sighed.

"You know what? I'm tired of this . . I'm tired of being lied to⏤" The girl was about to leave until she bumped in to Daehwi.

She stared at him for a good 5 seconds.

"Please tell me you didn't know about the whole thing with Rae." Minji whispered, her eyes showing pure curiosity. Daehwi avoided Minji's eyes and stared at her foot.

"You're my best friend! . ." She sighed. Minji couldn't believe what was happening right now, all this time, Woojin and Daehwi, the closest to her knew about the situation.

"You saw . . you saw how broken and confused I was didn't you? You saw how much I wanted the answers yet you still managed to act like you don't know a damn thing about it. I trusted you, Daehwi." Minji shook her head.

Before she left, she took of her necklace and grabbed Daehwi's palm, placing it there. "Give this back to him and go join your friends." Minji gave him one last look before hastily leaving the rooftop.

Her night was ruined.

Minji sighed as she silently closed the front door after being dropped off by Daniel and his father. Tears uncontrollably rolled down her cheeks, wiping them away with her palm.

The girl sluggishly walked up her room, closing the door behind her and sat on the floor. While covering her mouth, she cried even more, her soft sobs could be heard in between the silence of the night.

Yes, she sounded selfish from the arguements she has had with them yet she was fed up with it. Minji gave Jihoon everything he wanted, she respected his decision of choosing Rae's offer instead of her's.

But she felt useless as a girlfriend, seeing someone else help Jihoon made her feel inferior, it pained her that all she could do was the things he wanted her to do which was to give him space.

She did all she could for their relationship yet it didn't work out because in the end, she was all alone, trying to keep the fire burning.

No she wasn't making him pick between her or his father, she was questioning him as to why he gave up so easily on her. She was questioning him as to why he didn't accept her offer, his girlfriend.

Her phone vibrated inside her clutch, causing her eyes to shift to it. The girl took out her phone and stared at it.

She tossed her phone on top of her bed before getting up to do her usual night routine. The night started off beautifully yet it ended horribly.

Why is life like this?

With red puffy eyes ⏤from all the crying at midnight⏤ Minji slowly entered the school building, she headed for her locker, not bothering to find Jinyoung and Nari.

She wanted to be alone for today.

The girl scoffed as a group of students loudly walked down the hallway, it was morning and students were already being loud, who wouldn't be pissed?

As she finished taking her books, Minji headed straight to her class. Biology. The girl figured getting to class earlier would save her a spot where she wanted to sit, no way Minji was going to sit at the old spot.

She didn't want to see any of their faces for today.

Minji quickly sat behind a bench, somewhere far away from her old seat. The girl took her phone out and read the notifications.

[ 12 missed calls from Daevid🔥💕 12.43AM]

[ 20 missed calls from Woojin😤 11.01PM ]

[ Daniel😊: yo your friends look down af what happe . .10.59PM]

[ Jinyoung👌: i cant see u???? where are yo . . 10.55PM ]

[ Jihoon: im sorry bub. 10.50PM ]

Minji cleared her notification panel and locked her phone, sighing.

Now that the situation is cleared to me, time to focus on my studies. She thought.

Jihoon then entered the Lab and slowed down his tracks as his eyes caught Minji who was quietly sitting at another bench, far away from where he sits. He wanted to go to her so bad and hug her but that was the last thing Minji would want him to do.

He wanted to hold her in his arms so bad.

Jihoon noticed her visible puffy red eyes, he frowned. She cried because of me, again.

The boy gripped the necklace inside his pocket before sitting at the back bench.

Prove yourself, Jihoon. Show her that you're worth her trust. He thought.

"Why did you do that?" Jihoon asked, staring at the roses ahead of him.

"Like I said, I was guilty. I wanted you two to get back together again⏤" "And you think Minji and I would get back that easily?" Jihoon scoffed, cutting off Rae's sentence.

"Why did you have to do that to me!? I just don't get why you had to do that, Rae. Trying to get someone to love you by doing horrible things to them will never work out!" He raked his hair back, frustrated.

"I loved you Jihoon, I'm sorry." She sighed.

Jihoon shook his head before leaving the garden.
