Don't leave, don't go.
Jihoon tightly held Minji's hand, indicating that he's going to be there for her no matter what. Jihoon was Minji's happiness and vice versa, taking someone's happiness away from them is practically like killing a person inside.
That's how Minji felt throughout the times Rae took him away from her, after all, she's the one at fault. If the girl hadn't blackmailed Jihoon, none of this would've happened.
Their relationship would've been be good as gold.
Minji hesitantly knocked on to the door, regretting it as soon as she did. The girl wanted to just hide Jihoon behind the bush but she can't lie to her father anymore, Minji needed to clear this all up with him.
Mr. Kim was about to speak until someone had knocked on the door. He sighed, hastily walking towards it and opening it.
There stood Minji with Jihoon.
His blood boiled, seeing him with Minji was the last thing Mr. Kim wanted to see. "Are you seeing this boy again? Minji I told you not to-" Mr. Kim's sentence was cut short because of Minji.
The girl wanted to prove that he's no distraction and that she wasn't going to let herself get distracted anymore.
"He's just a friend dad!" "I told you to keep away from him and focus on your exams!" Mr. Kim replied, resting his hands on top of his hips.
By the looks of it, Jihoon had to do something. He couldn't just watch Minji fight for the two of them, he had to do something because last time, he never did anything to fight for the two of them.
Mrs. Kim tried calming her husband down but it wouldn't work, she kept saying to solve this through a calm manner and not lashing out on each other because they wouldn't understand each other throught that but it was too late.
"I havent been a distraction to her, Mr. Kim. There's no need to get angry at Minji. In fact, I've been helping her with her notes and she's been doing great." Jihoon replied, trying to deliver his sentence as nice as possible.
Mr. Kim was older than him, of course he needed to show respect.
"And who are you to talk back?! You know what? Kim Minji, you're grounded, I'm taking your phone. Get in here!" He exclaimed. Minji's mother once again tried calming him down but he shook her off.
Minji gave Jihoon one last glance, Mr. Kim was her father after all. She still needed to obey his orders, Minji didn't want to make the situation worse than it is.
She squeezed his hand before letting go of it.
As Minji was about to get inside, Jihoon pulls her to his side. "I have full respect for you Mr. Kim but don't you see how miserable your daughter has become? Basically telling her to lock herself and study for the exams til she drops?"
Minji needed freedom as well.
"Are you judging my parenting?" Mr. Kim raised a brow, Jihoon was a bit taken back by his sentence but stuck to his point.
"No but I'm concerned that you don't see how unhappy she is. Her smile, her eyes, her face . . it all screams sadness. Minji has been acting so different at school for the past few weeks. Doesn't she deserve happiness too?" Jihoon replied.
"You're either getting in here or leave." Minji's father then slams the door. Tears formed on the brim of Minji's eyes, "I'm such a disappointment . ." She sighed, staring down at her shoes.
What was she going to do now?
"Come on, you need some time to relax." Jihoon dragged Minji but only for a couple of steps, the girl yanked her hand back, shaking her head. Fear in her eyes. "I need to go back to my father."
Minji didn't want to have a problem with her father just because of a boy nor she didn't want Jihoon having any problems with him. She didn't want both her loved ones to be in pain because of her.
"And what? You're just going to leave me hanging? I fought for us, Minji! Can't you see that I love you?" The boy was taken back by her sentence, he fought for the two of them yet this is what he's going to get?
"I see that-" "Then why are you going to leave me after i tried saving us?" He cut her off. Minji knew where he was coming from but she couldn't afford hurting her father as well as Jihoon.
"Because I don't want anyone hurting. I don't want to make someone happy by hurting someone else. I promise, I'll come back to you Jihoon. I just have to sort this out with my father. I'll come back, please wait for me."
No, she wasn't going to pick between Jihoon or her father Minji wasn't going to take anyone's side, she doesn't want to hurt someone by making someone else happy. That was the last thing she would do to someone.
Especially when both of them are her loved ones.
Minji placed a soft peck on his forehead, tip toeing before letting go of his hand and never looking back.
Jihoon balled his hand - where Minji held - in to a fist while watching her take heavy steps. He could still feel the warmth of her hand, he already missed her.
I'll wait for you, Minji.
