My reason is you.

It was true that the more she didn't push Jihoon away, the more she was going to fall for him. It was for the best. But moreover, she did it because she would be distracted once again.

"Because I need to focus on my studies." Minji replied after taking a bite out of the delicious burger, it made her so soft that she would actually let Jihoon stay.

"Are your parents pressuring you? Is that why you've been visiting the Library more often?" He asked.

The girl sighed.

"That's none of your business!" Minji exclaimed, taking her bag and food with her before walking away. All she needed right now is peace, Jihoon was asking way too many questions and the fact that he didn't want to leave annoyed her.

Minji found herself a secluded spot where there wasn't a lot of students around. She sat on the new-found bench and rummaged through the brown bag Jihoon gave her.

What she found inside the bag broke a piece of ice around her heart. Pain killers.

I know you said you didn't like the letters but I did this because I could never say it in person.

I bought you pain killers for your headache. How did I know? You kept on hitting your head lightly a the Library earlier, that's a sign I picked up when you have headaches.

Take care of yourself Minji.

Minji let out a deep sigh whilst staring at the little note with pity. "Park Jihoon don't do this to me . . I don't want to fall, not yet. Not now, bub."

She tried her best to get away from Jihoon but as soon as she knew he was the one who has been sending those letters, it metled her heart.

Yes she said those were sweet empty words but that was to stray him away, Minji didn't want Jihoon involved in her life, not just yet. The actual truth was, those letters made her happy. They gave her a sign that his ove for her is still strong just like her love for him.

Jihoon just has to wait a little longer until the senior year is over then that's when they can get back together, spill the bottled up feelings, hold eachother until the night ends and say sweet nothings. After the senior year, they can finally get together and do all the things they want to do, right?

*

Jihoon walked back to the Cafeteria, a sad smile forming upon his pink lips. This wasn't the result he was looking for but Jihoon knew that proving yourself needs a lot of patience because if patience isn't in the essence then it won't work out.

He had to swallow his pride, forget his emotions for a while because he knows it's going to be a tough one but that was okay, it was okay because it's for the person he loves.

The boy trusts Minji that she still has feelings for him, she may not show it but he can feel it, he could see the way her eyes sparkled whenever he looked at her. He could see that tiny hint of joy in it and that was what gave him hope.

It gave him hope to hold on and wait til the end, even if it meant waiting forever.

"So? How did it go?" Woojin asked as Jihoon took a seat beside him. The latter softly smiled, "Not a great start but I didn't expect anything else, to be honest." Jihoon shrugged.

"Where's Jinyoung by the way?" Daehwi looked around the student filled Cafeteria but there was no sign of the small faced boy. "He's with Nari. Poor them, they barely get time for each other nowadays because of all the comforting. Must be hard." Daniel replied.

"I'm worried about Minji." Jihoon blurted out.

Before anyone could say anything, he raced them to it. "Minji doesn't look too well, she had a headache earlier. She looks so weak and pathetic, it concerns me." He continued.

Daehwi bit his lip, now his concern for his best friend is even higher. He really needed to go and see her, Minji needs someone at the moment.

"I'm worried she's pressuring herself because of the exams." Daehwi spoke while staring at the table. "I need to go and see her." He added before getting up and jogging out of the noisy room.

Kim Minji where are you? He thought.

Daevid🌹 is calling . .
Accept|Decline

The girl mentally cursed as she accidentally pressed the accept button. His call was totally uncalled for and for a second, she forgot about their current situation.

"Kim Minji, where are you?" Panic could be heard from his tone.

"What for?"

"I swear- It's your father isn't it? Is this why you're pressuring yourself again?"

"That's none of your business Daehwi."

"It is my business!"

"You're my best friend."

"I said the same thing when you betrayed me. The irony." She dryly chuckled.

"Minji plea-" "I have other things to do. Bye."

Daehwi frustratedly ran his fingers through his hair, "Why are you so stubborn, damn it!" He jogged outside the school buildings, trying to find a peaceful place where Minji would most likely stay at.

He figured Minji didn't go to the rooftop nor garden as she probably didn't want to be found that easily, not when you're trying to isolate yourself from everyone.

Minji flinched a little as she heard her best friend's voice behind her. She sighed.

"Don't do this to yourself Minji" Daehwi spoke, sitting next to her. "Daehwi, this is none of your business. All I'm doing is studying." She spoke before harshly flipping her notes.

He sighed, crossing his legs. "Even if you don't tell me, I know the reason. I'm your best friend, Minji I basically know everything about you."

>>

Minji mentally cursed herself as she reached out her palm outside, droplets of heavy rain hitting against it.

The girl sighed before taking a step outside, ice cold rain immediately came in contact with her uniform, soaking her in no time. Minji shivered a little but continued her journey home, nonetheless.

Minji was completely drenched under the rain, she was about to stop under a dry place until someone had placed an umbrella over her. She looked back and saw Woojin softly smiling at her.

"I-i don't need it." She was about to step out of the umbrella but Woojin grabbed her hand, turning her around and yanking her back.

"You're going to get sick. You wouldn't want Jihoon worrying about you." He placed her hand on the handle of the umbrella and left her with it.

Woojin walked away, getting drenched under the heavy rain instead.
