sorry to disappoint you that this isn't an update but here's some tips about wanting to publish your first book :) i'll drop this by before i leave for the party hehe.
hey winkies !
since most of y'all have been asking me questions about writing books and whatnot, i decided to give you guys some tips about starting your first book. :)
note: yes i know how you guys feel, publishing your very first book might seem a little nerve wrecking as it might not go smoothly but that's okay, i've been there too.
1. firstly, of course writing a book will need a lot of patience and motivation. i suggest if you want to write your first book, write it about your bias that really motivates you! writing about your bias will really help in updating and motivating you a lot! it also helps you gain inspiration.
2. make sure you have the whole plot thoughroughly thought out! having the whole plot in your mind will be easier for you to write your chapters and would avoid having a lot of writer's block.
but don't worry if you haven't quite figured out the whole plot, that's okay! just keep writing and you'll eventually get some great ideas running through your head :)
3. a guide. linking to number 2, it is very helpful to have a guide/check list to look back on. in full detail, write down the flow of the story step by step til the end so you don't miss any details when writing your chapters, having a guide really helped me remember the things i forgot when writing a specific chapter and again, it reduced my writer's block.
4. it's okay to make changes to your plot! if you're midway to your story and figured out that the plot isn't really as good as you thought about, don't be scared to change it! just make sure it still fits in the story. actually throughout the time i was writing 'different' i did some changes to the original plot to make it seem more interesting!
5. have a goal of how many words you want to write in a chapter. for me, i have a goal of 1000 words or more in a chapter. this was really helpful because it kind of organised the way i set out my book, there wasn't too many revelations in a chapter nor too less :)
6. CLIFFHANGERS. as you all know, i had cliffhangers in my books :) having cliffhangers will make your readers more hooked in to it! they'll be dying to read the next chapter, it's a way of making your book more interesting to the readers.
7. language features! metaphors, similes, personification, alliteration etc . . don't be afraid to use these wonderful language features because these will make your chapters much more better with them :)
8. this is optional but if you want to make your book seem more realistic about something then search it up in the net! for example, i basically searched up about the whole tissue swelling in jihoon's father's leg. it actually helped me understand what i was writing about. it wouldn't hurt getting to know some facts :)
9. if you think your chapters are lacking on words then elaborate the situation! for example, write more about what the character is thinking, how they are feeling. have an opening statement for it then an explain statement.
e.g. jihoon didn't know why but he felt tired today. (opening statement)
he wasn't always this tired, infact the boy always slept early because sleep is something really precious to him. maybe he was tired because of all the thinking he did yesterday, after all, their exams are coming up. (explain statement)
this is also optional! ^
10. don't be scared to write like your style! everyone has different styles of writing and thats what makes each and every single book unique. these things ive written are just tips on trying to spice up your book :) no one can still beat the way a person writes when its their own style.
+++
well, that was it! i hope it helped you guys especially those who are planning on publishing their very first book!
don't be scared to do so and don't be scared to fail because i've also been there. i remember publishing my very first book but soon unpublishing it because i had the feel that i wasnt really motivated and lacked enthusiasm in it.
patience is the key, just keep writing and people will eventually find your book and take great interest in them :) don't lose hope !
