And just like that, he was gone.

"Well, that was it? That's a pretty sad ending." Minji said to herself as she closed her novel, placing it on top of her wooden lamp table.

The weekends finally rolled in, Minji still couldn't stop thinking about their date yesterday.

Minji tossed and turned on her bed, her heart somewhat beating faster than usual, it was weird of her body to act this way.

"I should eat . ." She muttered as she made her way towards her door, reading a novel first thing in the morning wasn't really a great choice for Minji since her mind still couldn't process the words written in those white pages.

"Good Morning!" Her father greeted her as he was taking the dirty laundry from the bathroom, Minji greeted him back.

She was happy to see her father well, she was thankful that she didn't have to visit her father every single day to be only greeted by him lying down on the hospital bed, weak as ever.

Minji was thankful because she pitied Jihoon, she pitied the boy because he has to go through that and to top it all off, he has to hide the pain he's feeling.

The girl made her way downstairs to see her mother watching the daily morning news already in her working clothes just like her dad. "I made breakfasy for you there, it must've gotten cold already though . ." Her mother spoke, eyes glued to the TV.

Minji hummed and sat on a chair, scrambled egg and sausages in front of her. She licked her lips and wasted no time to dig in.

"We'll be leaving soon!" Her mother called out to her dad who was probably in the laundry room. "Til what time are you guys working?" Minji bit a piece from the sausage.

"Your dad will come home at around 7.30, my department needs more employees today so I might come late." She answered, Minji nodded, returning to her food.

I could invite Jihoon here. Minji thought.

*

The girl plopped down on her leather sofa, scrolling through social media. Her parents were long gone to work and she has the house all to herself.

"Ah, I'm bored. What should I do?" Minji sighed, closing her phone and resting it on top of her stomach, looking around the house. "Maybe I should call Jihoon . ."

"Hey Bub," "Hey Jihoon, do you want to come over today? I'm a bit bored and I'm home alone."

"Uhh, sorry I can't. I'd love to if it weren't for- I mean, I have to watch over dad today at the hospital. We have to keep a close eye on him since his leg isn't getting any better despite the medication, he said it hurts a lot." Jihoon sighed through the phone.

Minji could feel the heavyness of his voice, she bit her lips. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope he gets better soon."

"Same here . . and Minji?" "Yeah?"
