"What makes you say that?" Minji asked Nari, the two girls were currently sitting on one of the benches at the garden, it was still early in the morning so they had time to chat around.

"I-it's hard to explain, Minji. I just have a feeling he won't like me." Nari sulked, burying her face in her hands, Minji patted her friend beside her. "I'm pretty sure he likes you back, can't you see? That boy basically cares for you." She chuckled.

"It's not easy to tell someone what you really are . . " Nari sighed, her hands muffling her voice. "What?" Minji tilted her head.

What did Nari mean by that? She thought to herself.

"It's nothing . . don't worry about it." Nari sat up, giving Minji a forced smile. She liked Jinyoung very much yet she's afraid of what he will think of her when he finds out.

"Nari-" "It's nothing, Minnie." Nari cut her off. Minji grinned, "Okay . ." Although she didn't really believe her, Minji nodded, nonetheless.

"Just remember, I'm always here for you . . and if you've changed your mind, you can tell me what's bothering you." Minji grinned, making her friend smile. "Thank you, Minji" She pulled her in for a tight hug, tears filling up her eyes as she rested her chin on Minji's shoulder.

"What are you girls up to?" A familiar voice asked causing the two to pull apart from each other, Nari hastily blinked her tears away, masking her sadness with a smile.

"Mornin' Baejin." Minji smiled, secretly nudging Nari's side. Nari nervously laughed, "H-hey, Jinyoung . ." The boy smiled at Nari before replying to their greetings.

Before anyone could say anything, someone had come to the garden as well, "So this is where you guys are at." Jihoon sighed and sat next to Minji, squeezing himself next to her.

"Morning, Bub." He brightly smiled at Minji, causing her to smile back as well. 'Where's my 'good morning'?" Jinyoung asked, chuckling, "You don't get one." He stuck his tongue out at Jinyoung who playfully scoffed.

Nari, who was lost in her own train of thoughts became distant from the group, she was very worried about something. Of course, Jinyoung being an observant person, he quickly caught up to Nari's situation and walked closer to her, leaving the two lovebirds to laugh about.

"Hey, you okay? . . You seem a little distant." He dryly chuckled masking his concern for his friend, "I'm okay, just worried about some school work and stuff, you know the usual." She replied, not looking at his eyes.

Nari was a bad liar, everyone from their circle of friends knew that, they all knew because she could never look anyone in the eye while she's lying. Although Jinyoung knew she was fully lying about just worrying about school work, he let it slide.

"Okay, if you need help with your work . . I'm always here." He grinned although Nari still wasn't making eye contact.

Jinyoung didn't want to force Nari in to spilling personal problems that she didn't want to share, she had the right to not tell if she's not comfortable, after all, it's her own problem.

"Are you going to the hospital today?" Minji asked as she scooted closer to Nari so Jihoon could get comfortable on the bench, "Mhm, Rae is coming with my mother and I. She wanted to start helping today." The boy shrugged, Minji's heart sank a little as she heard Rae's name come out of his mouth. "Oh, that's great. The sooner the payment, your father could be treated with more medicine that he needs. Hopefully he can recover quickly." She replied.

"Don't worry, he's a strong person. I believe in him." Jihoon smiled. "Just like you." Minji replied.

"I'll see you tomorrow, tell Mrs.Park I said 'Hi'." Minji gave Jihoon a peck on the cheek, though it wasn't necessary, she wanted to remind Rae that the man she's about to go to the hospital with is taken by none other than her, Kim Minji.

Rae awkwardly avoided her gaze from the two and to her shoes, she felt like she was third-wheeling but most of all, it felt weird standing in front of her long-term crush flirting with someone else but that was life.

Destiny does what it wants.

"Bye, Bub." He held her hand one last time before walking off with Rae, keeping his distance from her. Minji watched their backs, she wasn't going to lie they looked good together and she was jealous, their figures slowly disappeared as they walked farther and farther from Minji.

The girl sighed to herself before turning around and starting her walk to home.

It felt empty without Jihoon by her side, it felt cold and lonely. She didn't realize how much she needed Jihoon always by her side up until now. It felt like someone had stolen her boyfriend off her without her knowing.

Minji reached her home, she pulled out her own duplicate of the house key and inserted it in to the hole and twisting it open. She stepped inside the quiet house, her parents were still at work and they don't come back til 7 pm.

"Looks like I got the house all to myself for now." She sighed before climbing up the flight of stairs and in to her room.

*

"Mom, this is Rae . . she's the girl I was talking about, yesterday. She's my classmate from History class." Jihoon pointed to Rae, the girl smiled and bowed at his mother.

"Oh, I thought Minji came as well . ." His mother muttered under her breathe, somewhat disappointed his girlfriend didn't come.

His mother kind of felt something weird about Rae but she shrugged it off. Rae awkwardly laughed, looking at the ground.

"Your father's leg injury got worse, the x-rays showed what caused his left leg to swell up. Apparently there's internal bleeding in the tissues and he needs to take certain medication for it." His mother sighed.

Jihoon frowned upon hearing the news, "Don't worry, he'll get the treatment for it. I'll try work over time so I can earn more." He sighed.

Jihoon honestly just wanted his father to get better, who doesn't? He didn't like seeing his dad in that foreign state where he's just lying on a hospital bed doing nothing, tubes and all connected to him.

He would do almost everything and anything to get him back on to his two feet, to get his father back to normal condition.

"Rae and I will be back, we'll just drop a payment in." He patted his mother's back before glancing at Rae and walking ahead and turning to right.

The girl caught up to Jihoon, "Wait . ." She grabbed his hand, too tight for his liking.

Jihoon turned around nonetheless, "What is it?" He tilted his head in confusion. Rae smirked, gently pushing him against the white walls that were cold against his back. "W-what are you doing?" He was ready to push her off him but Rae caught on to his two hands.

"You think I'm going to help you this easily?" She chuckled, her smirk remaining. "What-" Jihoon was now confused as to what the hell was happening.

"I need something in return." Rae smiled as she leaned closer to his face, "What is it?" He sighed.

He would do everything and anything for his father. What ever it took, he was desperate for his father's health to get better.

Sometimes you have to risk things.
