CHAPTER 7
First Case (CHEMISTRY Case)

"IT'S MS. Kang Jiwon!"

It's not oblivious that they are all surprised with what I just shouted. Well, except for Jungkook who I think already expected this to happen. Sujeong and the others looked at me as if they are asking me on what I am doing.

And I gulped. Everyone's eyes are on me, waiting for me to speak.

"What the hell? Do you even have any evidence?!"

I gulped once again. I breathe deeply and started speaking.

"Before that, I just want to say that Mr. Leesoo's alibi is true. The delivery man was in a hurry that's why he wasn't able to deliver the pizza here. Since he was in a hurry, he got into an accident. I know this is not coincidence, but there was accident that had happened just near this street, a collision of a motorbike and a car. The person who was in that motorbike was a deliveryman, a pizza deliveryman specifically."

I went closer to them and got the picture of Ms. Eunsuh, the victim, where there are three numbers beside her hand.

"Ms. Sunhwa, I heard you're teaching in the same school where the victim was also teaching. The victim is a chemistry teacher, right?" I resumed and Ms. Sunhwa just nodded.

"She is a chemistry teacher. That is her major. She doesn't want to teach other subject aside from chemistry," she answered.

"So it's like, she's really into chemistry?" I asked a follow-up question and looked at the picture that I'm holding.

Ms. Sunhwa nodded as a response."By any chance, if you two talk through chat or text, she replies with numbers?"

Ms. Sunhwa got shocked with my question. "How did you know?" She asked a smirk creeps on my face.

"How is that even related to me as the suspect?! You know kids, if you're here just to play and kill time, it'd be better for you all to get lost!" Ms. Jiwon, the victim's sister, blurted.

"These numbers, 19/ 53/ 6, were written on the floor right behind the hand of the victim," I continued as I ignored what Ms. Jiwon just said and showed them the picture. "Just like what Ms. Sunhwa just said, the victim is fond of chemistry, she even replies by using the atomic numbers of the elements. Basically, this is a code that will lead us to catch the culprit."

"These numbers were written by the victim. I went to Ms. Eunsuh's room and found her diary," and I got the little notebook from my pocket and showed it to them. "How the numbers were written in her diary is the same to as how the numbers are also written on the murder scene."

"If we will try to decipher it, the atomic number 19 corresponds to Potassium and it's symbol is K, 53 which is the Iodine, symbol I, and lastly, 6, the carbon, symbol C."

"Now, we will combine the three letters together and it will be, K.I.C."

"Okay, what about it? How will that prove that I'm the culprit? This is ridiculous!" Ms. Jiwon said.

"Oh? What were you saying, Ms. Kang Isabelle Cathy?" I said and again, they are all bewildered with what I just said.

"As I said, I got Ms. Eunsuh's diary and compared the way she wrote the numbers. And I also found out that you are an adopted child and your english name is Isabelle Cathy. Am I right?"

They all gasped with what I just said. I looked at Ms. Jiwon and she's also looking at me raising her right eyebrow.

"Do you think that is concrete enough to point me as the murderer of my own sister?" Ms. Jiwon sarcastically said while shaking her head.
