ANALISE’S POV

“Get up.”

I had been standing here for the past three minutes repeating the same two words to my brother Nash while poking his face with my index finger, and the only thing closest to him being conscious was him mumbling in his sleep.

Me and Hayes were all set and ready, standing with our packed, well… my packed and Hayes’ stuffed luggage bags. The only person we were waiting on was Nash.

You’d think that being an actual member of MAGCON, he’d be the one to wake us up for his and Hayes’ event.

Well… we can only imagine.

“We’re going to be late!” I whined. I was so excited to be getting away from all this drama and stress, and the only thing putting me down right now was Nash lying in bed like a zombie, drooling and snoring. Gross – if only his fans saw him this way.

“That’s it! Hayes run and get me a bowl of cold water, and throw in some ice. Quick.” If he didn’t get up from this, then I give up. Hayes and I will go without him. His fans would freak.

‘Oh sorry guys, Nash couldn’t be here because he didn’t wake up in time for MAGCON’ I thought in my head. If that was my apology speech fo when Nash doesn’t show up, I’ll be egged and people  will throw water bottles at my head, even though I was the one who tried to wake Nash up.

“Here.” Hayes eventually returned and passed me the large bowl filled with freezing water; I had to cover my hands with the sleeve of my flannel top just so I could hold it without dropping it; it was damn cold.

“Wait!”

“Wait for what?” I quickly replied, annoyed at the delay. Any longer and I could guarantee we’d be stressing because we didn’t get to the airport on time and check-in takes forever.

“Let me open vine!” He whisper-screamed [Is that what it’s called?...] while tapping his phone screen violently.

“C’mon! It’s getting heavy!”

“C’mon… Almo- READY!” He shouted, holding his phone up in the air victoriously. I guess the fans would get a treat today.

“Getting ready for MAGCON! Now Ana!” I heard Hayes speaks to the camera.

I took my cue and threw the water right at Nash’s sleeping face, the water drenching everything from his neck and above, while the cold water and ice seeped into his blue sheets.

“AHHHH! WHAT THE FU-” he screamed.

“No swearing in front of the camera!” Hayes interrupted, and we both doubled over in laughter at the sight before us – A furious Nash drenched in water, with small pieces of ice still in his hair.

“B-Be-Be” I couldn’t finish my sentence because I was laughing too hard.

“Best pr-prank everrrrr!” Hayes laugh-screamed, tears already spilling down his cheeks.

“Oh so you think this is funny?” Nash questioned seriously.

“Hilarious.” I replied, as I gathered myself together and helped teary Hayes up off the floor.

“And we got it all on camera!” Hayes chanted while parading around the room dancing.

Next thing you see is a Nash, a red pyjama blur, running after Hayes, chasing him all over the room until he finally leaped and attempted to tackle him, but instead I was the victim as he tapped me at the ankles as I was about to leave the room before I got caught into it. Too late I think to myself.

“Oh God! Ana are you okay?” He panicked, running to my aid, and completely ignoring Hayes who was now checking his Vine stats.

“Nash why are babying her? It’s not like she can start bleeding from a little fall on carpet.” Hayes commented, his confused face peaking from behind his phone.

“I just… didn’t want her to fall?” He drew it out like a question.

“Whatever… You two are so weird. Be downstairs in 15 minutes. We’re leaving for the airport in 20 for security. You remember what happened last time we were late…” He spoke as he left for downstairs, the clunk, clunk, clunk of his luggage wheels trailing behind him.

“Look I-” I interrupted him with a punch to the shoulder.

“Ow! Look, I know wha-“

“No Nash! You don’t know what this means to me. Treat me normally, alright? It’s all I ask of you. Hayes is going to find out soon, and it won’t even be from me telling him – it will be from your actions!” I exclaim, angrily grabbing my suitcase.

As I turn around, Nash’s voice stops me.

“I’m just doing this because I’m your big brother, and you’re my little sister. I’m meant to be this way – with guys that hit on you, with girls that are bitchy to you… and this.” He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Nash. I’m grateful that you love me enough to protect me from harm. But please for my sake, get yourself together and pretend like I’m still in remission. It would help me a lot. Mentally and physically…” I say as I cover the forming bruise on my neck by sweeping my hair over my shoulder.

“Okay?” I ask, breaking the silence.

“Okay.”
