Okay first, I'd like to thank all of you who had helped me get to 1000 reads. I love you all!

I had actually spent so much time trying to re-write this chapter to make it perfect as a special 'readers reward' for 1k reads. Ahaha how cute does that sound? I'll just get started because I know you're sick of my author's notes - so I hope you enjoy this chapter!

. . .

ANALISE’S POV

“You’re here!” He exclaimed, shock plastered all over his face.

I lightly unhooked his icy fingers from my wrist, and threw it at his side.

“Matthew, of course I’m here…” I reply confusedly.

“I thought you left me!” He began to cry as he walked closer, looking down at my face.

“Matt, have you been drinking?” I asked. Of course he had – The heavy lingering smell of the alcohol fell from his lips as he breathed steadily.

“Victoria, don’t ever leave me again.” He begged and grabbed my head in his hands, shaking it slightly and ruffling my straightened hair in the process.

“Matthew it’s Ana.” I explained, trying to get it through his drunken head.

“No…” He hiccupped as he tried to speak.

“No… No! No! No!” He wailed, dropping my head from his grasp.

“Matthew you nee-”

“No! I need Vic – YOU’RE NOT HER! ” He screamed and stormed off, but before he could get too far, I grabbed his wrist, turning the tables from previously.

“Matthew you need to sit down.” I explained and guided him to the nearby couch, pushing the couple who was making out, off the leather seat.

I don’t even know why I was helping him. It wasn’t like he had ever shown me any kindness – but I wasn’t him. He was drunk and clearly wasn’t thinking right. Of course this boy needs help.

“I-I ju…” He trailed off, mumbling his own words.

“Matt…” I was about to say, but it was too late. I poked his cheek to make sure, but I was right – he’d passed out.

“Hey Taylor can you help me?” I asked. There was no way I could lift Matt’s whole weight by myself.

He lightly chuckled and replied by grabbing Matthew’s legs.

We lifted him ‘stretcher’ style and took him over to my room.

“You need anything else?” He said, looking eager to get back to the party.

“Nah it’s alright. I’ll um… I’ll be out in a minute.” I replied as he left the room. Once I knew he was gone I locked the door and went straight to my bag to look over the papers Dr Emmett gave me – I still hadn’t had time to read over it. I’d only quickly scanned it.

I kept replaying his words in my head – “It’s recurring, but slowly spreading. You should be alright for now.”

The ‘for now’ bit was getting on my nerves. I heard him say something similar to Nash, and I thought he would’ve been freaking out or trying to rush me back home, but surprisingly he didn’t. He was acting normal about it – which I was proud of. He kept his promise.

MATTHEW’S POV

I lied there; not moving. Just waiting to hear that voice again. Even if it wasn’t hers… with my eyes closed it was the closest thing to hearing Victoria again.

I opened my eyes slightly and saw her; she was just sitting on her bed staring sadly at a crumpled piece of paper.

As I scanned closer, I saw a tear fall from her face and bounce onto the writing-filled paper. She angrily threw the papers from her shaky hands, replacing them with her face. She looked up and wiped her eyes with her sleeve, and went to pick up the scattered papers and stuffed them in her bedside drawer - Guess I’d examine it later.

She straightened up her shirt and looked over at me before heading for the door.

“Ana… you there?” I piped up, mumbling as if to make it sound like I was really asleep.

She sniffed and quickly wiped her eyes before saying, “Mhm. Taylor helped me get you here when you passed out.” She replied quietly.

“Stay with me?” I blurted out. I didn’t even know where it came from, but I knew that a part of me was curious about this girl I had tried so hard to imagine didn’t exist.

“I’m not su-”

“Stay with me?” I repeated, confirming my want in this plea.

ANALISE’S POV

I walked shyly over to his bed, sitting on the edge.

He laughed softly, and looked over at me with a smirk on his face as he patted a spot on the bed next to him.

I sighed and obeyed, sliding over to sit right by him as he lied on his pillow. He lifted his head from the comfy white pillow and instead placed it on my lap.

I stared at him uncomfortably, not knowing what to do in a situation like this.

“Matth-” I was about to interfere, but of course he had to.

“Shh I’m comfy.” He whispered, as the first soft snore trailed out of his perfect little mouth.

‘Stop it’ I scolded myself. He’s been drinking, so of course you’re helping him. Now’s not the time to have a crush on someone.

Pushing aside my thoughts I came to my senses and slowly tried to move Matt’s head off of my lap and get to the bathroom; I was literally busting. But without luck, he just began to groan and complain his sleep.

I sighed and sat there in boredom and began to play with his blonde hair, twirling strands in between my fingers – somehow it reminded me of Skylynn’s.

He mumbled something which made me look down to check on him. He lay there, his soft brown eyes shut as he unknowingly smiled in his sleep; one that was similar to the one that I hadn’t known was on my own face.

It was one that reflected genuine happiness.
