ANALISE’S POV
“Is he alright? He’s been in there for a while…” Nash asked, anxiously.
“I’ll go check.” I stand from the table, wiping my mouth with a napkin – I don’t want to have food all over my face while meeting this guy. He seems cool the way the others have described him.
“Are you sure?” Cameron asked.
“Yeah, I need to grab something from my bag anyway.” I reply while they dismiss me and return back to their food.
I walked quietly over to the white door. It was the furthest point from any other room in the suite. It was in a little corner of its own; like a little passage to another world of privacy. That’s why I chose it, but ‘privacy’ is gonna be a hard concept if I have to share with a guy I barely even know.
I leaned up closely to the door, placing my ear on the smooth surface.
At first I heard nothing. The room was silent – it was hard to believe someone was in there.
As I pushed my ear closer to the door, I finally heard the faint sound of a male voice.
“I’m so sorry.” He spoke sadly and quietly.
I waited a little longer to see if I could pick up anything else when the door knob started to twist. ‘Oh no!’ I thought, but it was too late. As the door swung open, I tipped and was on my way to crash on the floor like an eavesdropping idiot.
But I didn’t fall. As I opened my eyes, I realised I was inches from the ground in cold, strong arms. I looked up to his face; as astonished as mine. Within this short time, I studied him. He had blonde hair and perfectly shaped face; but his cheeks were tearstained, and his eyes. Oh those eyes, they were beautiful, but glared at me with a scarily solemn look.
“Oh-I… Th-the guys wanted to see if you wanted some food.” I mumbled, finding myself almost incapable of speech.
“Were you... just standing there?” He questioned.
“Look, we- Yes. Only for a few moments, I just wasn’t sure if you we-” I explained but was cut off by him lifting me straight up onto my feet again and walking off.
“Wow...Nice meeting you to.” I grumbled and made my way over to my luggage.
I grabbed the bottle of my meds and took one, with a gulp of water. ‘That should stop the spinning.’ I thought to myself.
As I was about to exit the room, I saw something lying on the floor.
It was photo of Matt and some girl. The paper was slightly crumpled like it had once been rubbish that had been best attempted to be smoothed out, to its original state.
I looked at the small photo in my hand. It was of Matthew and a girl. They were both dressed up formally, and he was kissing her cheek.
Me and her had similarities – same dark hair and pale face, brown eyes, we even looked around the same height. Matthew on the other hand, he looked happy, lively even. Nothing like I how I just saw him.
I tried my best to remember what he said.
“I’m so sorry.” Those three words repeated themselves, the possibilities of what it could mean buzzed through my head.
Not wanting him to have a completely tarnished impression of me, I left the photo where I had found it and left the room to join the others.
. . .
“Guys the movie’s over. I’m going to head off to bed.” Cameron announced, removing the DVD and placing it back into the case.
“Yeah same. Night guys…” I chimed and did my best to wander off to my room in the dark.
After I finally went through my night routine of brushing my teeth and washing my face, I changed into my pj’s and got comfy in my bed. Or so I thought it was…
“Um… This is my bed.” A voice popped up from beside me. Shocked, I turned my head to face Matt’s face, the darkness hiding his amusement.
“Oh shit I’m so sorry!” I quickly stammered and ran over to my bed.
“I’m Matthew; the guys call me Matt. Your Nash’s little sis right? Analise is it?” He asked in the darkness.
My mouth gaped open in shock. He was actually being polite? After he catches me and ignores me for the whole night?
“O- Um yeah. Call me Ana or Lise. I’m fine with both.” I reply quickly.
“OK – Night Lise.” He said.
“Night Matt.” I replied, but I’m sure it was inaudible.
His soft snores began straight after that conversation, as I lay awake contemplating what just happened. One minute awkward and stand-offish, and the next, introducing himself and falling asleep when he just started a conversation.
What was with this guy?
