Chapter 45

"You two are finally home!" My mom said pulling us into a hug once we walked into her house
"Yes we are." I laughed as she pulled away
"You look tan." She said smiling
"Whats going on?" I asked knowing something was up
"Nothing." She said smiling and walking away
"Mom I know your lying." I said following her to the kitchen
"Hey Katie." I said seeing her sitting at the counter next to Nate
"Something is off here." Will said noticing something was wrong too
"They are getting married!" Holly said running and hugging Katie
"Nate? Katie?" I asked surprised and they both nodded yes
"Oh my god!" I said going over to hug both of them
"We didnt want to over shadow all your plans." Katie said shyly
"Dont worry about us. We dont even know when we are getting married." I said as Will continued
"We are just happy to be with each other and happy for you two." He said pulling me closer to him
"Lets go out and celebrate." I said getting excited and wanting to get shit faced one more time before going back to work
"Are you sure?" Nate asked protectively
"I go back to work after killing a man in three days. I am sure." I said coldly before going to change upstairs

"The Jareau's are here lock up the good stuff." My uncle Scott yelled when her saw me and Nate walk in
"Very funny old man." Nate yelled back while flipping him off
"Amaretto sour strong and a round of fireball shots please." I said when we got up to the bar
"Are you sure?" Aaron the bartender for the night asked
"Yes. Im not in high school anymore I can hold my liquor now." I said as Will did a small laugh knowing it was some what true

"We should do this more." I slurred to Nate trying to stand up straight as we played pool
"How much has she had?" He asked Will who just smiled bigger and nodded yes
"Are you both drunk?" Katie asked concerned
"No." I laughed stumbling over to take my turn
"Look at how hot she is." Will said earning a harsh look from Nate
"After this game we are going." I said missing the ball and leaning on Will
"No you two are staying with us. I cant bring you both home like that to mom." Nate said taking one of many drinks from my hand and Wills
"Lets just go now." Kate said trying to help me to the car
"Im happy you are going to marry my brother and all but I need to get black out drunk Im sorry." I said laughing and trying to get back to the bar
"JJ your done." Uncle Scott said once I got up there
"I killed a man damnit." I said before breaking down the first time since it happened
"Alright lets go." Nate said carrying me out of the bar and to his car
"This is not fair." I huffed as Katie buckled me in
"Lifes not fair." Nate said back looking at me
"I killed a man. I took his life." I said leaning forward and resting my head on the drivers seat
"Darlin its ok." Will said seeming sobered up
"No he had a life." I said holding back tears
"He almost killed your friend and killed many others. You saved lives." Katie said rubbing my back
"I just want to go home." I said leaning back and resting my head on the window

"Lets go inside." Nate said helping me out of the car
"I want Will." I said pushing him away
"I have you babe." He said on my other side
I struggled to walk to the house and was carried in by Will and to the guest room downstairs.
"Take care of her." Nate said before going upstairs

"I dont feel good." I said right when Will sat me down on the bed
He carried me to the bathroom and held back my hair.
"I hate seeing you like this." He said as I fell into his arms
"Im sorry." I said getting tired
"JJ I am here for you. Forever." He said he before my eyes shut and I fell asleep

Sun streamed between the blinds and woke me up. I rolled over to an empty bed but laughter in the kitchen.
"Well good morning sunshine." Nate said laughing loudly when he saw me walk into the kitchen
"Shut up Nate." I said getting water
"Looking for these?" He asked holding up the bottle of aspirin
"Give them to me." I demanded holding my hand out
"Only if you put pants on." He said holding the bottle high and away from me
"Fine." I said stomping off and back to the room

"Happy now." I said returning with pants on wanting the bottle back
"Yes." Nate said giving me the bottle and a plate of breakfast
"Our flight leaves tonight at 9:30." Will said reminding me that I actually have to go back to work
"I dont want to leave." I said whining
"Neither do I." He said copying me
"I cant wait for you to leave." Nate said with a smile on his face as I flipped him off
