What We Kept Secret

Chapter 4

"Hey, I thought you may never call back. I thought I scared ya." Will said answering
"I told you I would." I said smiling at how innocent he is
"So do I get you for a week or just a couple days?" He asked getting right to the point
"Well, Im looking at plan tickets right now and it would be cheaper if I flew out tomorrow morning and flew back home Sunday the following week." I said trying to keep my cool
"So a whole week?" Ha asked smirking
"Yes a whole week. Unless you dont want it to be I can make it a weekend thing. I still have to check on hotels." I said as I pulled up a hotel page that were in the area
"No a week. I want to see and know the Jennifer Jareau that no one else sees. And you are staying with me. You are already flying out here, there is no need for a hotel." He said making my heart flutter
"Are you sure?" I asked still not sure if I should stay at his place
"JJ, its southern hospitality get use to it. Im a southern gentleman." He said making me smile
"Well than thats it. I got the tickets for landing at 8:30 tomorrow morning." I said I clicked buy
"I cant wait to see you." He said sounding distracted
"What about your work?" I asked realizing he has to work too
"I got it covered dont worry. I have to go another murder. Get packed for everything you might need and bring something nice so I can take you out. I will call later." He said calming my nerves
We said our goodbyes and I fell onto the couch. What did I get myself into? I asked over and over again. I was about to fly out and see this amazing man that I have only met once and I am about to spend a week with him. I got up and went to my room and turned on some stupid show as background noise as I started to pack.
I pack probably more than I needed to for a week but I knew it was a very unplanned trip and we had unplanned everything we were going to do. That was the opposite of everything I do. Im always planned to the hour it seemed like. It was almost noon and I decided to call my mo as I made lunch.
"Jenny!" An excited reaction came from her
"Hi, mom." I said smiling knowing I should call more
"I was getting worried. How is everything?" She said fast
"Everything is fine mom. I just thought I should call." I said trying to get her to calm down
"You only decide to call when something good happens. Now spill." She said. She knows me to well shes like a profiler of just me it seems like
"Alright fine. So we went on a case this passed week in New Orleans. And I met this guy." I said ripping off the bandaid
"A guy? Like a real one. Are you going back into the dating world after being with Hunter?" She asked bringing up my least favorite person
"I dont know maybe. Hes cute and a total southern gentleman." I said smiling as I thought of him
"So, when are you going to see him again?" She asked hoping it would be soon
"Um, well Im actually flying down there tomorrow." I said as I took a bite of salad
"What!?" She said surprised
"Ya. He just seems different and I have never been to New Orleans and thought...." I started to say but was cut off by her
"Jenny, Im so proud of you for taking this big of a risk. Maybe he is the one and maybe this was meant to happen." She said making me smile
"I hope it is. He is actually different." I said taking another bite
"How so?" She asked
"Well, he is a detective. So he understands my job and how demanding it can be at times." I said trying to reflect on him
"Is he good looking?" She asked with a slight laugh
"Yes, he is very good looking." I said thinking back to his blue eyes
"Ok, well you let me know how it it. Your brother just dropped off your niece and shes going to want to go horse back riding." She said as I finished my salad
"Alright. Have fun. I love you." I said as she said the same thing back to me
I looked around my apartment and decided to clean up a little bit more than its already perfect self. When I finished that I looked over a few reports and wrote my own before getting interrupted by Will calling. We talked for three hours about the smallest things before I decided I should go to sleep before my flight. We said our goodbyes and I laid down trying to fall asleep but the excitement was just too much.
