What We Kept Secret

Chapter 6

I smiled and walked up to him
"Pink roses." I said raising my eyebrows at him
"I wasnt sure what your favorite flowers were and Im not the type of guy to buy flowers for a pretty girl. I took a guess that you would like pink roses because they are almost as beautiful as you." He said with a smirk I missed seeing in person
"Will, I love them and you did pretty good. They are one of my favorites." I said taking them from him and smelling them
"What are your favorites? For future reference." He said sweetly as he turned around for us to walk to baggage claim and put his hand on the small of my back making my heart race.
"Lilys are." I said smiling trying to keep my cool
"What one is yours?" He asked as luggage started to come out
"Its a big black suitcase with two different pink ribbons wrapped around it." I said about to put my purse on the ground to pick it up when it came around
"I got it Cher. Remember Im a southern gentleman. And you will be treated better than you have ever been before." He said smiling making the butterflies in my stomach go crazy
He looked at me and pointed at my suitcase to double check it was mine and I nodded yes. He picked it up and his muscles seemed to fight against the fabric of his shirt making my knees want to go weak. We got into his truck and drove to his place making small talk on the way.
When we pull up to his place and he looks over at me and has the biggest smile on his face
"What?" I asked wanting to know what was on his mind
"Nothin, just taking in the beauty that is before me." He said making me swoon
"Lets get inside. I really need to use the bathroom." I said with a slight laugh
We went in and notice right away that his apartment was a real bachelors place. He pointed me to the bathroom and I went to use it.  When I walked out he was sitting on the couch petting a dog. A big dog that was.
"Ranger down." He said ordering the dog as it went and laid on the floor. I tensed up a little bit not knowing he had a dog.
"So, what do you wanna do?" He asked as I shrugged my shoulders cause I had no idea what was around here
"Well, we can go out to an early lunch and go grocery shopping cause I dont have anything in this place that you might like." He said with a slight laugh
"Thats fine with me. Im pretty easy." I said smiling
"Awesome lets get going than." He said standing up and guiding me to the door to start our day.

We get to a small diner and I looked at him puzzled.
"It might not be a fancy place that you are use to in DC, but it does have the best pancakes." He said with a nervous smile
"Will, its fine. Besides I could use some pancakes right now." I said nudging him as we walked into the diner
"Will!" An older lady said seeing him walk through the door
"Hey Carol." He said smiling at her
"Is this the girl you have been gawking over since you finished your daddys case?" She asked looking me up and down
"Yes, she is." He said proudly and confident
"Well she sure is gorgeous." She said making me smile
"Im Carol. Im a long time friend of Will Sr, I watched this boy grow up in this town." She said smiling and full of southern hospitality.
"Jennifer nice to meet you." I said putting my hand out to have her shake it
"Honey this is New Orleans and Im a southern women. We hug here in the south." She said pulling me into a hug
"Carol" Will laughed as she let me go
"Your usual booth is open. Here is your menus." She said smiling and giving him the menus before returning to waiting on a table
"She likes you." Will said smiling as we sat down.
"How do you know?" I asked
"Cause she let us sit in my usual booth." He said as he pushed the menu to the side and took mine out of my hand.
"I dont see your name on it. And I wasnt finished looking at the menu." I said laughing
"Its right here and Im ordering for you." He said picking up the sugar packet holder. The name Will Jr was carved into the table that looks like it was done almost fifteen years ago. I cant wait to hear the story about that carving one day. I continued to think about Will while dazing into his eyes, he took charge and ordered for me. That has never happened and was very sexy of him to do.
"Darlin, your blushing." He said snapping me out of my thoughts
"Sorry." I said pushing hair behind my hair as a huge plate of pancakes, hash browns, bacon and sausage was place in front of me.
"Dont worry it made you look even more beautiful." He said smiling
"Would this be a bad time to tell you Im a vegetarian?" I asked looking at him
"Are you really? Im sorry I assumed you ate meat. I can get you a menu and you can order something else." He said panicking
"Its fine Will, I was just messing with you." I said laughing as I took a bite of sausage
"Thats not funny." He said trying not to smile

We finished our breakfast lunch and did some grocery shopping before going back to his place. By that time is was almost three in the afternoon and I was ready to almost fall asleep standing up.
"Do you wanna watch a movie and stay in tonight?" He asked as he sat next to me on the couch
"If your ok with it." I said looking at him with tired eyes
"Im more than ok with it and it looks like its about to storm." He said smiling at me
"Let me get changed than." I said standing up and grabbing my suitcase but Will beat me to it and brought it to his room
"I can sleep on the couch." He said as he said getting close to me
"Its fine. I can." I said not wanting to impose.
"No your the women you get the bed." He said closing the door before I could say no
I changed and walked out to the living room seeing he already changed into sweat pants.
We decided on watching what ever random movie that was on tv, it turned out to be a super hero movie. I ended up drifting asleep and waking up to a nudge and my head on Wills shoulder.
"Im going to order pizza." He said with a sleepy voice as well
"Thats good with me." I said smiling feeling a little embarrassed about falling asleep on him.
