Chapter 46

We finally landed back in DC and went right to my apartment.
"I leave Monday morning." Will said laying next to me in bed
"I know." I said with no emotion turning away from him
"JJ dont do that." He said pulling me into him as I continued to ignore him
"Jennifer. You know I would stay if I could." He whispered into my neck
"Its not about that Will." I said holding back tears
"Then what is it about?" He asked confused and turned on the night stand light
"Its about the traveling back and forth." I said looking up at him
"We are making it work. Just because we have an abnormal relationship its fine we are strong and engaged in a way." He said lifting my left hand up and started playing with my ring
"We arent even engaged. Its like we are high school students with promise rings." I said pulling my hand away and standing up
"Do you want to call this off?" He asked looking at me with pain in his eyes
"I dont know." I said fighting back tears
"I dont know what I want to do anymore." I said hitting my breaking point
"We are fine. Im not going anywhere. You had something big happened and it is now setting in." He said pulling me into a hug as I sobbed into him
"I love you." I was able to get out in between sobs
"I know you do. I love you too." He said before kissing my forehead
"Make love to me." I said looking up at him starting one of our last nights together

Two weeks later
"JJ we have a case in Florida." Hotch said walking into my office and giving me the file.
Charlie's picture from a party I attended was showing before all the paper work.
"I will be right in there." I said to Hotch to allow me to get time to get the presentation set up
"Will." I said once he picked up
"You got the case?" He asked sounding upset
"Ya." I said trying not to cry
"Good. I made a recommendation to the officers." He said hanging up

We get on the plane and I was a bundle of nerves. He was getting married soon and Will was the best man. What about Claire? Things were running non stop in my head as we flew.

"Im going back to the hotel." I said to Hotch at the end of the night after being on Wills bad side all day.
"Hey." I said after he finished his phone call who I assumed was Claire
"Man, sure is warm in the bayou, but at least it cools down some at night. What? Are you leaving?"  He said seeing me with my stuff
"Yeah, I'm beat." I said not sure what would go on
"Without saying goodbye," he said looking upset
"I didn't know where you were," I said wishing I knew it was true
"Did you look?" he asked as I gave him a look knowing something was about to start.
"Should I be worried?" He asked as I still didnt respond or make eye contact.
"I mean, it doesn't take a profiler to see you've got one foot out the door in this relationship," he said pushing me over the edge knowing he was referring to one of the last nights together
"Could you just please keep your voice down?" I said double checking no one from the team was around
Our fight out in public continued and the next thing I knew we broke up and I watched the love of my life walk away.
