Chapter 24

"Thanks for coming Will." She said
"Anytime. I wanted to be here to help in any way possible." He said
"What were you going to do if I didnt stop Nate?" She asked him
"I would have let him. I get where hes coming from. If I found out one of my close friends was sleeping with my younger sister I would have punched him and took him for a beer." He said lightly chuckling. I didnt know he had a younger sister I thought to myself
"You have a younger sister?" My mom asked him
"Yeah. Shes twenty four and lives in Georgia. I have an older brother who lives in the bayou too." He said as I kept listening
"How old are you Will?" She asked. It took my by surprise because I didnt even know when his birthday is
"Twenty nine. I turn thirty next week." He said
"Wow." Was all my mom could say
"What about your parents?" she asked. I realized we never talked about any of this.
"Well my mom lives in Georgia and we lost my dad in the storm." He said
"Im sorry for your loss." My mom told him
"Mrs. Jareau, I really wanted you to know that I love Jennifer with all of my heart." He said making my heart flutter
"I know you do. I can tell by the look in your eyes. They always light up and sparkle when you see her." My mom told him
"I know this is super early but I want your permission and blessing." He said sounding nervous
"Permission and blessing?" She repeated back
"To marry her. Im not planning on it anytime soon. But I do in the future. We just need to work out the whole long distance thing." He said still nervous
"Will you dont need to ask but yes you can." She said
"I know she loves her job and I cant ask her to ever move down to New Orleans. Ive been thinking of transferring to MPD so I can be closer." He said taking me by surprise
"She been hurt before. Im surprised you got her to open up so much to you already. But be careful. Sometimes a case will get to her and she will completely close down and refuse to talk to any one." My mom said as a warning
"Honestly I want to be there for the good and the bad." He said making me want to smile
I slowly started to stir to give them a chance to wrap it up.
"You wanna go home Jen?" My mom asked once my eyes opened
"I can stay here tonight." I said looking at my watch seeing it was almost six thirty
"No, you and Will go. I want to be with her alone." She said looking over at a sleeping Shelby
We said goodbye and went to the car.
"Will." I said making him turn around and face me
"Thank you." I said starting to get emotional
"Oh babe." He said pulling me into a hug
I started crying into his shoulder
"Let me drive. I remember how to get there and we can stop and get a large pizza half pepperoni and half pineapple. And we can watch Breakfast at Tiffanys." He said making me smile with my favorite things
We got in the car and he held my hand the whole way only breaking to get pizza.
We get back and we both hear my shower turn off and watched Nate walk out.
"Sorry." He said seeing us and going to the guest room.
"Im going to change." I said walking to my room and he followed right behind me.
I stood standing in front of my bathroom mirror looking at myself in deep thought before getting interrupted by Will wrapping his arms from behind me
"I've missed this." He said whispering into my neck
"Missed what?" I said falling into him loving this moment
"You in my shirt and short shorts. Seeing you completely relaxed with no make up on and your hair in this cute messy bun." He said making me blush
"Now we have pizza and a movie to watch lets go." He said pulling me out towards the living room

Half way into the movie I started to fall asleep. Before waking back up listening to Will argue with Nate.
"You need to quiet down." Will said hushed
"You need to leave and go back to New Orleans." Nate said full of anger
"JJ and your mom need you to be strong." Will said a little louder
"Ive had already lost one sister and I almost lost another one." Nate said getting more emotional
"And you might lose JJ if you keep acting like this. Stop the drinking and smoking. Think about Holly. Would you want Holly to see you like this?" Will asked taking me by surprise
"I cant lose Jen. And Im being a terrible father. Im sorry Will." He said and I stood up to go over to them
"Im going to go to bed." I said kissing Will on the cheek and ignoring Nate until I get a proper apology.
A few minute later Will came in and laid next to me as I cuddled closer to him.
"I heard what you said to him." I said
"Oh yeah." He said kissing my forehead
"And in the hospital." I said taking him by surprise
"Dont move out here yet please." I said drawing circles on his chest
"So you heard that huh?" He asked seeming a little down
"Only because I dont want to be the reason why you give up loving there." I said
"How about this, we have that discussion later because Im enjoying how we are right now." He said kissing my forehead
"I am perfectly fine with that." I said pulling him into a deep kiss
"You started it cher." He said propping himself up and hovering over me
"To bad my bother is here." I said giggling
"Hes not he left to the hospital." He said sliding his hand up my shirt. Starting our night of being together.
