EPISODE 8: D R I N K
Don't touch me ever again?
Did he just threaten to kill me with his eyes?!
"Unbelievable." I huffed, watching Sera sleep in the new bed beside me. "Ridiculous!" I angrily got up to my feet. No one in this house was reliable enough. I mean, are they're seriously killing their own kind left and right for the sake of pride and vengeance?!
"Excuse me." A knock came from the door.
"Yes?" I got up and opened it almost eagerly. Though I am voluntarily living here, it kind of feels like a prison still with how lonely it gets.
"Dinner's ready." The same maid greeted me. Lith. So she didn't die like Jimin had asked her to?
I smiled and nodded. "Thank you. I'll be down soon." Maybe he wasn't so bad after all?
"Sera." I softly woke the child up and waited for her to fully open her eyes before we went down the stairs to greet the boys who were eagerly chatting except for two miserable demons--guess who. As soon as we entered the dining room, they paused and looked at us.
"The seats increase by the day. At this rate, we might as well just open our fucking house into a museum." V scoffed.
"Haha, very funny V. But trust me, I have no choice in this." I rolled my eyes and sat Sera next to me, who sat next to Jin.
"Ugh, Satan." Jin gasped and pinched his nose. "It smells like baby powder."
"She's nine, she doesn't use that anymore." I snapped back.
"Aren't we feisty." Jin chuckled. "Did she perhaps forget that she's just a simple mortal speaking to the princes of hell? Guess so. I remember my collection of human sorority girls were not the brightest, so I'll gracefully let this slip by. But our eldest has truly softened up for some mortals, hasn't he?"
"Are you picking a fight Jin?" Jimin increased the tension.
"Can't you guys just have a normal dinner for once?" I picked up my chopsticks and nibbled at the rice. "Wait, are these ingredients from hell again?" I gasped.
"Of course." Jimin scoffed. "Did you want us to bring Savannah's GMO products into this household?"
I stared at the rice grain with wonder, expecting it to burst into colorful flames any minute.
"It's not going to ignite by any chance if you're wondering." Namjoon caught me staring. I still found it creepy how he was able to infiltrate my mind like that. Awkwardly, I gave a quick smile and forced a good amount of rice down my mouth.
Well, it kind of tasted better than normal rice. I don't know how, but it just did. Might've been hellfire that it was cooked on top of. I glanced at Namjoon who choked back a scoff. Did he read that out of my mind too?
"Why is she not eating?" Jungkook looked at Sera who was distracted by their plates.
"You guys don't eat?" Sera asked with concern. She frowned and crossed her arms. "Not fair. You need to eat. You guys look so pale and sick."
I almost spat my rice out but smoothly curved my laugh into a cough.
"Yeah, well, sorry to break it to you dear but we---" Jimin shut V up before he could make Sera cry.
"Want to share some then?" He sweetly smiled. Sera smiled and raised her bowl to Jimin. He used the spare chopsticks in front of him and hesitantly scooped up some of the rice. "I'll eat this only if you eat some too." She nodded eagerly, waiting for him to try it.
