Episode 38: D e v i l 's D e a l
"Well, well. I've really been summoned by the lords of hell?" Leyla stood in front of Jimin, Namjoon, and I. "And in their top secret lair too!" Honestly, I wasn't too keen on having that woman here either. Especially with the vibes that she was giving off.
"I didn't summon you here to chat over a cup of tea." Jimin glared at her. Leyla's eyes locked on to me and her mouth curled into a disgusted snarl.
"I see you still have the Nephilim around you. Strange, I would've thought you'd have surrendered her into those pathetic lightbulbs upstairs by now."
"Excuse me, I'm--"
"Hanul is not a toy that we can simply give to someone." Jimin surprisingly interrupted me. "And this isn't about her. You know why I summoned you."
"Hmm, well, isn't she the one who technically released that vile girl, Dalia? Should've known that's what I felt from her when I got that strange feeling."
I bit down my lip and stood quiet with guilt. She wasn't wrong about that. I was the one who caused this all to happen. But because of that reason, I wasn't going to idly just sit in a room and stare at four walls. I had to help.
"So, now that you've gotten yourselves into quite the mess, again, what do you expect me to do?" Leyla crossed her arms, draping her long sleeves across her body.
"Not that we expect much from you," Namjoon spoke up this time. "But we all know that you're the one who is able to read Dalia's abilities. After all, everything she knows about black magic is because you taught it to her."
"True." Leyla kept her one eye solidly fixed on him. "And?"
"What exactly do you want." Jimin glared at her, reading her subtle hints. She turned her eyes over to him.
"Hm, sharp one." She smiled. "What would I gain out of this? Helping you, much more siding with a Nephilim? I mean, this is beyond my job requirements and honestly, you know how I feel about you kings of Hell." She bitterly scowled.
"Listen, why don't you just help us!" I irritatedly spoke up. "There's no time for you to bargain when all our lives are at stake right now!"
"All our lives? Listen here you abomination, if anyone's life is on the line, then that would be yours. I still have no reason to help you. In fact, if there's anyone who I agree with, then that would be Satan. Even though he broke my heart and banished me out of hell, there's nothing more that I want to see then the destruction of these cursed realms and help start the world anew!"
Her eyes gleamed with passion and admiration. Honestly, all I could think of was how in the world someone was able to become that insane. If Dalia used to hang out with her then her madness made sense. "You agree with that?" I scoffed. "Killing innocent people just for the gains of your own greed?"
"I'm not much of a philanthropist, dear." She smiled. "Witches are bitches."
"What about your own son? Suga." The mood suddenly grew still. "Would you be willing to sacrifice him too?" Her eye locked on to me for a few seconds before it curled into an upside-down crescent as she burst into laughter.
"I've long abandoned that stupid child!" She hollered. "If you think you can twist my arm with that pathetic threat, then you clearly don't know the extent of what I am capable of, dear!"
"Enough of this." V's voice suddenly appeared from behind us. Leyla's face quickly grew paler than it already was. "We owe you nothing, you cursed woman. All you have to do is tell us how to stop that bitch Dalia and go off on your way."
