Episode 34: I d e n t i t y

V crashed into the club bathroom, suppressing his painful groans until he was out of his brother's range. He leaned against the wall, clutching the center of his chest with pain.

It was consuming him to the point where nothing he did was enough. He tried to feed it with power, he even gave into the temptation and sipped on apple bourbon just to have it settle down. Nothing was working. This felt even more different than the usual awakenings Envy had and he knew exactly why. He knew the reason behind his form evolving and there was nothing he could do to reverse what had been done.

"Fuck!" V groaned, letting out a painful cry as he stumbled to the sink. He splashed water on his face hoping to cool down. "What more do you want from me Father?!" He cried out with anger and gasped when he looked back at the mirror. It was his face, not Envy's, but those mismatched eyes. Those eyes. His reflection was grinning back at him, taunting him. "This wasn't what I asked for!" V yelled back, gripping the sides of the mirror with his talons.

Slowly a stall opened and a frightened ogre nearly crashed back in when he saw the anger and power oozing out of V.

He snapped his head at the ogre who was trembling at the mere sight of his growing fangs and talons. One of his shoulder blades began cracking out of place, sending V on his knees in pain.

"What the hell!" The ogre screamed, scrambling up to his feet as he ran out of the bathroom.

"No! Father, please!" V resisted, trying to hold his spazzing shoulder down before the wings could sprout out.

"Seriously, just when we need them, they're not here." Jimin angrily walked through the crowd of careless supernatural beings, ready to throw the next person that stumbles into him to the ground. This wasn't good. He was getting unusually irritated.

"Are you okay?" I asked him. He frowned and looked around cautiously.

"No. Something isn't right." He placed his hand on top of his chest. "Something's wrong with V!"

"What?" My eyes widened with shock. "How do you know."

"I can feel it. He's my twin brother." He reminded me. "We can feel each other. When he's hurt I'm hurt, and when he's in pain, I'm in pain. We can't control it."

"What's happening then? How are you feeling."

"I don't know..." Jimin grumbled. "It's so...FRUSTRATING!" He growled, angrily tossing a hairy looking creature into the crowd of dancers. They yelled and hissed, glaring at us with rage before their eyes landed on Jimin's angered face. It's insane how much power and control he had just by staring at them.

Without thinking, I grabbed his hand. He stopped walking towards the frightened creature and glanced down at me, letting his face relax. "Hey, it's going to be alright." I smiled. His brows knitted up with concern.

"I don't know. I never felt this way before. He...he's going through it all at once. What could've possibly made him feel this way?! I don't understand..."

I glanced at his tense face. Beads of sweat were starting to gather on his head. This was probably something I couldn't begin to understand, but whatever it is, if Jimin was this distressed, it made me extremely concerned about what was happening to V more.

Everything was suddenly overwhelming. There wasn't a moment where we could all catch a break together.

If only I could be able to do something. I felt so useless. I was always the one who had to be protected, I was always the one causing issues by not understanding things. But what in the world could I possibly do now?
