Episode 35: R e q u e s t

I looked up at the source of the voice and stared back at Leyla who was looming in front of us. "Well, well. I knew something was off the moment my eyes set on you. So, you were a Nephilim, just as I expected."

"Brother!" Jin rushed in and stopped a few steps away from us.

A Nephilim? I knew the bible enough to understand what that was. Was I an abomination then? This whole time? That just explains everything that's happened to me until now.

"Jin, take Jimin back home." V stood up and Jin immediately followed up on his task. "I'll handle this witch."

"What are you going to do boy?" She snickered, belittling him. "It's all clear now. It's incredible! You guys had such an unstable presence by your side this whole time without noticing a thing! How fitting for the future rulers of Abaddon!"

"Shut up before I knock your old jaw out of place." V glowed with yellow flamed. That was enough to have her shuffle away from him.

"Using your powers to threaten me just raises the risks, foolish boy! You're already so weak and I can clearly see it! You're just hiding behind that temporary form before you finally---"

Without warning a ball of fire flew at Leyla. But before it could manage to hit her, a counterattack of black flames engulfed the yellow. "You dare challenge me!" Her voice took on a sinister tone as her eye turned obsidian black.

"There's more where that came from. And next time it'll engulf you whole. So I suggest you crawl back into your little hole before you wind up unable to. Mark my word, woman."

My hand was suddenly tugged up, and my body jerked forward with it. "Stand up," V ordered, forcing me to my feet. I was practically unable to hold my balance as I swayed in a dizzy daze. His eyes narrowed into regretful slits before the scenery around us changed and I was back inside the familiar walls of the mansion.

"Listen up, love." He grabbed my shoulders, stabilizing me as he tried to meet my gaze. Right now, there was no way I could give him my full attention after what just happened. My brain was whirring and spinning like someone had thrown it into a blender and let it tumble for ten years. "Hey." His stern voice tried to reach me as he lifted my chin up from so I could look back at him. "Listen to me!" He boomed, shaking me up from my shoulders. I jumped in surprise and immediately locked my gaze with his.

"Whatever you are it doesn't matter now. It doesn't change a thing about what's happening and what you're still involved with. Do you hear me? Satan is still after your blood and you are still in danger. Right now, you're probably even in more danger than before so you need to snap out of this right now!" His stern tone pierced through my senses.

I bit down on my lip trying to hold the tears back from falling down my face. My body trembled and it was really hard to catch a decent breath. "Y-You know...all I ever tried to be was a normal girl." I sniffed, looking down to the floor. "But...I knew it deep down as a kid I could never be like the others. And yet--yet I still tried. Like a fool, I tried to fit in. I tried to ignore the things I saw. I just tried so hard to have a normal life!" My voice cracked as I stopped to take a breather from the uncontrollable sobs that followed. "So, tell me. After everything that just happened to me now, how...how am I suppose to ignore that too?!" My head snapped up at his face.

"Because you can." He confidently replied back with an answer, locking a serious gaze with me. "I know it, you can. This won't defeat you. After all, even if you are an annoying woman, I won't deny that you've always had more guts than any being who dared to face me at my worst." V confidently shot me a smirk. "So don't ever show me that weak face. Don't ever let me see you helplessly cry like you've been defeated. I won't allow that to happen."
