Episode 10: T h e C h a m b e r
"Tell me everything. If I'm going to help you guys I need to understand what the hell you guys are and why you guys are here in the first place." I stormed into Jungkook's room watching him, J-hope, and the rest take their seats round Sera who was put to sleep.
"We all eventually lose to our demons if we can't control them." Namjoon started. "They reside in our body, waiting for our sinful desires. Once they take control of us we can commit sins that we work hard to suppress. What's worse, when they've taken almost all of our consciousness they can live in the bodies that we appear in now and freely transform."
"You speak of them like they're different people," I noted.
"Well...in a way they aren't. In fact, they make half of what we are. It's like the idea of the Yin and Yang. There's both evil and good, believe it or not even the spawns of Satan have a shred of goodness in them. I mean, father was once an angel. However, we just don't like to associate with them as being one with our souls. It is possible to detach yourself. Jimin was onto something, but truly I disagree. He's just trying to get rid of his demonic nature but that won't make him a demon fit to rule us then. It'll just make him a saint. Saints don't belong in Abaddon." Jin continued on next.
"Besides, we've learned our lessons from activating their curse," Jungkook spoke up, looking the most frightened out of all.
"Shut up, Jungkook." Jin hissed and then glanced at me with awkwardness.
"You've all turned like that before too?" I gulped down not sure if I should ask but what did I have to lose. "Did you all commit a sin before too? Is that how you activate it?"
"I'd rather not go into specifics about that. But there's something you should know Hanul. We are the original seven deadly sins."
My eyes widened. "But those were the most unforgivable..."
"That's why we've been banished here. Even Abaddon, hell itself, abandoned us. But it's not like Father cared about us anyway before sending us to Savannah. He threw us into this world and expected us to destroy it just to fulfill his own greed, while he left us stranded here for 665 years! He used his own children like they were dispensable slaves made to carry out his own twist reign." J-hope gripped his fist tightly and relaxed the green tint in his eyes.
"That's terrible." I frowned. "I always knew Satan was an asshole, but now he's even more of an asshole."
"Yeah, a big one too." Jin agreed.
"You met him before," Suga claimed out of nowhere.
"What?" I blinked. "What do you mean?"
"He was there..." Suga cocked his head to the side like it was obvious. "The night your grandmother died."
My blood grew cold. "That...that was--" I covered my mouth, preventing the nauseous wave from coming up.
"Yes, we all felt his presence and Jimin went to verify it that night. We thought he was coming for us after all these years, but he vanished soon after he arrived."
"But he doesn't take on a human form as you guys do. I think he almost had no form---almost." I recalled the human-like shape he had taken before he left. I could barely remember, but he also looked familiar in a way.
"Well, Xapham had made sure to ban his body from entering the other worlds. However, he's always found ways out of it. He can transfer his soul to others but he needs a strong vessel that can contain him--which is almost impossible. You know...now that I think about it, he might have been after your body. And if that's true, then I think our Father knows many things about you, Hanul. For some reason, you were marked by him since birth. If our father has marked you...well, maybe you don't understand the gravity of that but we do. That mark is only given to people Satan has plans for. That's only been V and Jimin, the two possible heirs. But now that you have one, we have to figure out where you fall into this and how you can help us go back to Abaddon."
