EPISODES 5: M i r r o r

When we entered the dining room, it was rather gloomier than the rest of the house. The large windows were shielded by a heavy velvet suede curtain and a dim chandelier hung down really close to the table--but not that it mattered anyway since it didn't seem to have any real food on it. The furniture looked very antique, as did the silverware.

Everyone was present but most weren't very welcoming towards my presence. One person, in particular, was keeping his closely fixed eyes on me: Jimin.

"Here is your special course." The maid came in with a covered silver platter, which if you ask me looked rather lavish for my presentational taste in how my normal food looked. However, I didn't complain, as it seemed that they were all used to their rich and royal lives.

I took the only empty seat that was between Jin and Jimin was to my left, sitting at the head of the table, V right across from me.

"If you ever need to eat just ask her," Jimin spoke up first, directing my view to the maid I saw earlier. "Mortals have a big appetite, she understands."

"Thanks." I cleared my throat and kept my eyes down, ignoring his secondary comments. Sometimes, I doubt that he made them demean me. I just didn't think he had much sense as to how human communication went. Nor did he probably want to find out.

Uncovering my platter, my eyes widened with hunger and my stomach grumbled in agreement. A steaming piece of steak with steaming alfredo spaghetti that melted the cheese infused in it greeted my empty stomach. "In the name of God, may he bless my soul." I closed my eyes and recited my prayers.

"Oh for Hell's sake!" Jin groaned next to me, cringing. I covered my mouth with a gasp of realization.

"I'm sorry, does my meal prayer provoke demons?" I hid a smirk behind my hand.

"Is she being serious or dumb?" Suga grumbled, shrugging off a chill.

"We don't mention the G word here." Jimin calmly took the time to explain. The more I sat with them together the more I understood that as scary as Jimin was he was probably the most rational one. "The rest is up to your biblical knowledge of the feud angels have with devils."

I nodded and wasted no more time, grabbing my fork and stuffing my mouth. This meal was unexpectedly good, considering a demon maid had conjured it up.

"How is it?"

I looked up, noticing that they were all just watching me eat my steak. Watching me eat like a starved pig.

"What?" I coughed, slowing down to remember my table manners. "It's really good. She's an amazing cook!" I beamed and gave a thumbs up to the maid standing at the entrance.

She looked straight ahead with no expression or reaction towards my compliment. "It's made with ingredients from hell. Hence, it's properly stated to taste otherworldly." She spoke up. The fork fell from my hand.

"It's just hell, not poison," Namjoon assured. I looked at him like he was insane.

"Yeah, it's just hell," I repeated with sarcasm. My appetite was suddenly gone.

They scoffed and all raised their silver wine cups in unity, sipping on its contents.

"What's this..." I glanced inside the cup. "Absinthe? What a weird choice." I crinkled my nose. "I prefer wine."

"It's not weird. That's what keeps us tamed." Jin sipped on it and gave me a wink. "And if I'm going, to be honest, now that I see you up close, you're rather sexy. Want to go clubbing later? What do you say Jimin, let me take her out to Lucifer with me."
