Episode 28: T h e W h o r e O f B a b y l o n

"What..." The blood drained out of my face. "So, you're saying that the only way to stop him is to have her possess me?"

Namjoon nodded at me. "It's insane and risky. We shouldn't even be thinking about this."

"What do you need?" My chest was thudding loudly with nervousness and fear.

"Hanul, we can't--"

"F-Fine. If it's the only way to save him then I don't see the issue. Is it reversible?"

"Yes, but--"

"Then let's do the spell."

"V can't find out about this," Namjoon emphasized. "I'm serious."

"Don't worry. He won't. I'm ready, what do you need?"

He shooked his head and scoffed with disbelief. I looked back at him with a serious look that soon got him talking. "Uh, well, any spell that involves possession typically requires something of the dead person and the living's blood. But see, that's why we can't do it. This whole idea is ridiculous!"

I glared at him. "Namjoon, you wouldn't have brought it up if it was completely impossible. Therefore, you must have something that belonged to Dalia. We don't have time here!"

"Well there is something but..."

My mind flashed to the jar in V's room. "Oh, crap..." I mumbled. "It really is her heart, isn't it?"

Namjoon glanced at me with surprise. "Yes, but how did you know?"

"I just did—don't ask. All we need is that heart and the spell works?"

"Yeah, but you can't just slip into V's room without him feeling it. It's nearly impossible."

"Nearly," I smirked and lifted a brow at him. Namjoon looked back at me with a regretful expression.

"This is a really bad idea."

"Well, it's the only idea we've got now."

"A what!" Jin laughed at us.

"I know. It's funny. But right now we are absolutely serious." Namjoon stoically stared at his brother's face that was slowly shifting to pure shock.

"You're not serious. You can't be serious. No! You shouldn't be serious!" Jin growled. "I'm not helping you enter V's room! I'll die!"

"He's not Envy right now. He'll understand what we did later when Jimin's patched up and well!" I argued back.

"Listen, mortal. All of your ideas have been giving us nothing but trouble!" Jin growled back at me.

"Brother, you're the only one among us who has the power to temporarily veil her presence."

"What's in it for me?" Jin smirked and glanced at his brother with a sly gaze. "I don't just help out for free, you know."

"Isn't the freedom of no dictator as a brother enough?" I scoffed. Come on, how inflated was his ego?

"No, not really. Because the chance of success with this crazy plan is zero. And then when he finds out about this I will also have zero years left to live!"

"I'll give you leads on the stones," Namjoon quickly spoke up. Jin's eyes flared pink.

"What stones?" I looked back and forth at them.

"How did you--"

"Are you going to do it or not?" Namjoon growled. Jin looked hesitant and then shut his eyes with a submissive sigh.
