Episode 40: e v o L
It must have been morning by now, but I was still sitting on the floor, clutching the letter Jimin left behind. Everything felt so hazy and unclear, I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up and ran out of Jimin's room. My chest rose up and down as I glanced around the hallway feeling the heightened panic getting to me.
I ran down the steps, rushing past the devilish statue in the center of the living room and finally stumbling into the dining room. Everyone was slowly starting to settle themselves into their seats for breakfast. Did they not know what was happening?
"Hanul? What's wrong with you?" Jungkook was first to notice out of the six brothers. I stared at V who suddenly looked extremely pale once he saw my frantic face.
"Jimin," I uttered. As if a wave of realization spiraled around, the brothers' looked at the empty seat. Jimin was usually the first one at any gathering. But his seat was cold now.
V stood up from his seat, his face stunned with shock. "I knew it..."
"What happened to him? Actually, where is our Brother? He should've been down here by now." J-hope walked over to me.
I bit on my lip, holding back the tears.
"What's that in your hand?" Namjoon noticed the paper I was tightly crumbling in my clutch.
"He's gone, isn't he." V softly spoke up. My eyes locked with his. They looked a little sad but not surprised.
"What?" The brothers spoke in unison.
"He's gone right?" V asked me, trailing down to the bracelet wrapped around my wrist.
"He just left like that?" I hoarsely spoke up, almost questioning it.
"No..." Jungkook slumped down into his chair. "Not again." The energy in the room suddenly seemed to drain out of each of the brothers as if the news had sucked a piece of them out with his disappearance.
"Damn it!" Namjoon lost his rage, causing me to slightly wince with surprise. "He's gone again! What the hell is he thinking?!"
From the likes of it, it seemed to me like this was something he frequently did. "Why?" I asked them. "Why did he just leave?"
Jin sighed and uncrossed his legs. "Brother always leaves when things get messy. It's harder to explain to you what this means. But for us, a family that relies on the order the Eldest bestows, it makes it really hard for the rest of us. And yet, he always has outstanding timing to abandon us while we need him to take on the role of a leader the most."
"But..." Jimin abandoning them? There's no way he could just do that. Not after that talk we had. Not after I saw how genuine of a person he was. "Don't you think he must have had a reason?" I lifted up the letter, skimming the script once over.
V suddenly grabbed it from me and began to silently trail his eyes across the paper before he crumbled it and threw it on the floor. "A reason?" V's deep, angry voice scoffed. "This is exactly why he was never fit to lead us!"
"Now what? Brother, what are we supposed to do?" Jungkook anxiously asked Namjoon and then looked up at V.
"I don't understand why he always does this. It's as if he purposely wants us to suffer alone." Namjoon grit his jaw.
"I bet I know exactly where that fucking idiot has gone too." V angrily narrowed his eyes, catching our attention.
"He wouldn't have..." Namjoon quickly caught on.
"He's off to see her." Suga appeared beside us, confirming V's suspicions. His fist tightly trembled before he angrily flung the chair at the wall, heaving with angry breathes.
