Episode 31: F a m i l y F e u d

"Oh my, what is that?" Jin excessively leaned over at my face. I glared up at him and stabbed the eggs with my fork. Jin flinched and backed away back into his seat at the breakfast table, quickly taking in his demon supplements.

"What's what?"

"That! Under your eyes!" Jungkook took my question literally. J-hope touched Jungkook's arm with a slight warning but he was too late.

"What's wrong with my eyes?" I glared at him next with my bloodshot eyes. J-hope sighed and hid a small smirk, shaking his head.

"N-Nothing." He lowered his gaze back to his goblet.

"Where's Namjoon? He's the only one missing besides Suga." He never wakes up anyway. Sometimes I even feel bad for that sleeping beauty.

"Don't bother with him. He's probably stuffing his nose in some thick book like a loser." Jin's mood turned sour. There seemed to be some sort of bad blood lately between those two. I don't know when it exactly began but it's obvious now.

"Or maybe he's just researching more about what Hanul found out?" J-hope perked up. "Abraxas."

A small silence fell over the table and a tad bit of sadness filled my chest for a bit. It was just a reminder for how much I was different, how I wasn't normal. My eyes accidentally glanced back up at V's and a bitter exchange of thoughts took from last night's surprise kiss took place. God, he made my blood boil. How could he just pull up something like that out of the blue then proceed to insult me and slam a door in my face?

I threw him a glare but he didn't care, per the usual. He was, after all, the king of glaring. I couldn't beat the darkness he threw back at the whole table.

My eyes moved over to Jimin and my heart kind of sunk. He was sad and I could feel it. Ever since our talk got interrupted I knew he didn't finish what he wanted to tell me. And I knew we both felt that we were drifting apart ever since Dalia took over my body. But for some reason, I had a feeling he was taking the full blame and that didn't settle well with me. I just couldn't stand it when I was the source of someone else's concern. One thing was for sure, he didn't have to take the full blame for what he did as Envy. He had to understand that what I did was coming from me. It was my choice.

He looked back up at me and returned a small smile. It wasn't confident and it was almost as if he was asking me a question.

I gave him a clear smile back as everyone began to finish and leave.

"Can we talk?" I asked him first this time.

"That's what I was going to say." He softly chuckled, getting up from his seat. I followed after him. "It's been long since you left this place. Want to step out?"

I raised my brows. Even I hadn't realized how long I was cooped up in this house. "Yeah, that's a good idea."

He reached out his hand. I hesitantly looked at it but decided to take it. For once, he wasn't scared of getting too close. He was trying to prove to me that he could control Lust.

He shut his eyes and slowly the images around us began to fade. Just as it disappeared by eyes caught V's dark figure looming from above the stairs. I almost thought that at that fleeting moment his cold eyes were piercing through Jimin in a way that wasn't too comforting.

Slowly, my vision began adjusting to the bare trees in the vast garden around us. "Fall already passed, huh?" I smiled, still holding on to his warm hand. I quickly flushed and pulled it away before he noticed.
