Episode 46: T e l l  M e  T h e  T r u t h

His hands tried to push my face away but only until I was sure the fluid passed through his lips, I wasn't going to break off just yet.

I ended up gasping for air, spilling the rest of the potion down my chin as I watching him cough and spit it out.

"Damn it!" He yelled, clutching his neck with discontent.

"You-you should've listened to me." I defended myself.

"Did you have my fucking consent to do this?!" He glared back up and I could attest that I had never seen his eyes shoot so much anger out at me until this very moment.

"No..." I gulped down with guilt. "But what was I suppose to do? Just let you turn into a monster? You don't know what's good for you! I had to!"

"More than that..." he grabbed the collar of my shirt and angrily swung my face close, "she could've poisoned it and you still drank it like an idiot! Have you no self-worth?" He yelled. "You're insane, aren't you? No, that isn't even a question! You are insane!"

"But...look at you! You're fine now." A smile teased my face as I studied his clear brown eyes. "And it's not there anymore."

His brows furrowed, but in the next second, it hit him. His fatigue was gone. He was gripping my shirt with actual strength now; one that I couldn't easily push off. The unstable yellow flame sparking in a tiny corner of his iris was no longer there.

"So what?!" He scoffed, but he did sound a bit surprised. "This isn't going to change the fact that you've gone and done something so stupid!"

"Well, I saved you! Didn't I?" I fought back, gripping his wrist.

"You did! So what?" He blinked. Something seemed off. I gulped down.

"Let go of me."

"I don't want to." He quickly replied back. He blinked with confusion, again.

His other hand gripped my collar too. "Hey! Let go."

"No!" He answered back.

"Are you crazy or something?!" I squealed, feeling my feet lift up off the ground.

"No, I am not crazy!" He answered, but something was telling me he wasn't being sarcastic with his reply. If my guess was right, he was actually saying the truth.

"V, what's wrong with you?" I quickly felt guilty. Was it the side effects of the potion?

"There's a lot of things wrong with me!" He answered without thought. "Damn it! What am I saying?" He clenched his teeth with annoyance before he seriously questioned, "What is wrong with me?"

"Oh! Do you want to know what's wrong with you? Well, there's a lot! First, you're--" Wait, what was going on. I couldn't stop talking. It's like I was compelled to answer him, "--a complete asshole! A jerk! You're scary! You're mean, and you're worse than my high school bullies, just to be frank!"

His eyes widened with surprise. "Fine! I might be an asshole and a jerk, but don't place me on the same level of high school bullies! I believe that I'm scarier than a bunch of snot nose pre-pubescent teens!" His face scowled with a look of disbelief. "What the hell am I saying?!"

"Don't ask me! I don't know what's going on either!"

"This is all your fault!" He blamed me.

"Ok, it is! But it's your fault too! I wouldn't have had to kiss you if you had just drunk the damn potion!"
