Episode 55: M o t h e r  N a t u r e

"Lucifer?"

My neck slowly turned, looking back at the person holding up an unconscious Jin.

She was dressed in a white gown that stopped beneath her knees. Long, silky, black hair fell down to her waist, glistening with every move she made. Her skin was milky white and when I looked into her eyes I had never seen something as beautiful as they were. They shined like opal crystals, but they looked sad and in pain.

The woman gently placed Jin down to the floor. "I'm sorry, child. You've done well." She whispered to him, and gently, pressing a hand against his heart, light green energy transferred out of it. Spontaneously, grass started to grow around Jin's body, flowers budded out and bloomed. His pale discoloration began to look more lively than before.

When she stood back up, every step she took left behind a patch of fresh grass in her trail.

Satan turned around with wide open eyes, staring at the beautiful woman ahead.

"Lucifer...." she called out his name, this time with a painful and regretful tone. "What in the world have you done?"

Satan, I dare say, looked afraid.

This woman had suddenly appeared from thin air, holding an unresponsive Jin, and suddenly had the power to make the Dark Lord himself look so afraid. Who in the world was she?

"Savannah..." Satan spoke up with a completely different tone. One that sounded more endearing.

"Lucifer." Her voice breathlessly called out with equal endearment, but it was also tinged with disappointment. "Why...how could you..."

"Savannah, I...I was building the world you wanted!" He suddenly lashed out at her. "You told me you wanted this! I haven't stopped and I won't! Now that you're here, we can both--"

"This isn't what I wanted." Her voice grew low with anger, dismissing his passionate claims. "I didn't want my children to hate each other. I didn't want them to hate you...and most of all...I...Lucifer, how could I forgive you after what you've done?" Her eyes teared up, looking down at Jimin's corpse. "You've...you've killed our son!"

V's figure slightly trembled at the sound of her words. His wet eyes slowly trailed up, staring back in horror. Namjoon's gaze shifted up from Jungkook's unconscious body and back at the woman with equal shock.

It was then that my eyes widened with sudden realization, glancing again at her hauntingly familiar features. The same black hair. The similar facial composure. My eyes shot back and forth between her and V.

She was their mother? But...I thought she was dead?

"Love, you...you wanted this! You told me that you wanted a world where there wouldn't be any hatred! Where we can just live happily and not have to worry about anything! Have you forgotten our promise ?"

"Lucifer, what you've done in regards to searching for that world has created the exact nightmare I've ailed from." She walked over to him. "You've caused so much pain, Lucifer. Don't you see?"

"You...you're the one who doesn't see anything!" Lucifer angrily spat at her. "You can't see the hard work I've put into recreating this damned world! It was never meant to thrive! The realms had to be destroyed before any of us could even dream of peace! You should be thanking me for coming this far!"

"Thanking you for what?" She bit her lip, shaking her head. "For killing Jimin?"

Satan's eyes hesitated. "I...I didn't mean--"
