Remnant's Knightfall (Rwby X Bane Reader)

Part 22

As I opened my eyes I looked around and saw Neo sleeping soundly on the bed. I silently got up and got her bags that she was packing the night before and placed them by the door.

I looked at my scroll before walking over to the bed, I gently shook her and she opened her eyes. She sat up and yawned before looking at me expectantly.

"Morning Neo, I know that this might seem a bit sudden. But I'm taking you to my place."

She looked at me with a alarmed expression and quickly began to type on her scroll but I held up my hand to stop her.

"Let me clarify. I'm not taking you to Beacon, there's an apartment I own on the outskirts of Vale. You'll be staying there for the time being."

She thought about it for a few moments and nodded, I pulled her out of bed and set her down in front of me.

"Now then, I've already packed your bags so once you've changed we can start going."

She walked into the bathroom and a few minutes later came out dressed in her usual clothes, I picked up her bags and we left the hotel. After an hour we reached the place and I opened the door and we walked inside. I helped her unpack and set up her stuff in the bedroom, we finished and made our way to the living room where she sat down on the couch.

"Sorry if its a bit dusty, I haven't been here in a while."

She shook her head and smiled.

It's fine, will you be staying with me?

"I have to do something today, but I'll be back later ok?"

Ok, before you go can you come here for a second?

I looked at her curiously and sat down, as I turned towards her she leaned forward and kissed me. My eyes widened in surprise as she moved back and winked at me before walking towards the bedroom. 

I left the apartment and walked towards the docks, as I reached the warehouse where I first fought Cinder I saw a minature Nevermore looking at me from the rooftop.

She's here then, well that makes things much more simple. 

I walked into the warehouse and sat down in a lotus position before closing my eyes, after several minutes I heard a soft laugh. I opened my eyes and saw myself in the same place I was when I fought Cinder, I turned around and saw Salem walking towards me with a smile.

"I got your invitation. Now let's get started."

"Now now, no need to rush. First of all....."

A portal suddenly appeared and we both walked inside, we arived in what looked like a ballroom. The floor was pale grey, the walls had torches giving off a dim glow and as I looked around a soft melody began to echo through the room.

I turned around and Salem was right behind me, she held out her hand and as I took it we began to walk around the room.

"I think I know why you called me here, and if that's the case then you already know my answer."

"You say that like you have a choice in the matter."

"I have no desire to fight you Salem, buy I will not hesitate to kill you if you make me."

She sighed and held out her hand. I gave her a quizzical look before placing my hand in her's. Suddenly images began flashing before my eyes, I saw hundreds of Grimm running rampant all though the kingdoms, I heard the people's screams as they were mauled to death. I saw the kingdoms begin to crumble until there was nothing left but ruins. And then, just as abruptly, the visions stopped.

"A storm is coming Bane, and if you're against me when it hits even you won't survive it."

"It'll take a lot more than a few Grimm to kill me. I'm fine where I am thanks."

She nodded and looked at me with a odd expression. She stepped back and held my hand in between her own.

"Are you always this stubborn?"

"I have my moments."

"I don't wish to have to kill you, but when the time comes if you're not with me you're against me. And I won't show you any mercy."

"Likewise Salem."

She nodded and walked closer to me. I clenched my fists expecting a fight but instead she leaned forward and gave me a soft peck on my cheek. I looked at her and she smiled.

"That was......unexpected to say the least."

"As I said before, you've caught my interest Bane. In more ways then one. I hope you will change your mind, before it's too late."

She walked away and I closed my eyes, when I opened them I was back in the warehouse. I walked out and saw that the sun was now hanging low in the sky.

"Evening already?"

As I got up I heard my scroll beeping, I opened the screen and saw ten messages from Neo. The latest one being an angry face and the words:
7:24 where are you?

Ah hell.

I ran back to the apartment and knocked on the door, a few minutes later it opened and Neo walked towards me and punched my chest.

Why didn't you answer?

"I'm sorry Neo, I was unconscious for most of the day."

Her eyes widened in surprise at my statment and she quickly typed.

What happened?!?

"Story for another time, but anyways are you all set up here?"

She nodded and I motioned for her to follow me. We walked into Vale and I stopped by a ice cream stand.

"Whichever one you want, it's on me."

She perked up and quickly began pointing to several different flavors, I paid and we walked out with five scoops of ice cream on her cone.

"You sure you're gonna finish that?"

We can share if you want. Just like before.

"How sweet of you, pun not intended."

She giggled softly and we sat down at a bench watching the sun slowly sink behind the horizon. When we finally finished the ice cream it was almost 8:50 and the park was mostly empty, with the exception of a few couples sitting in various benches.

I looked at her and chuckled as she laid on my lap. She sighed contently and looked up at me with a smile.

So.....what now Bane?

"Well, we'll just see how it goes from here on. Buy no matter what happens I'll be with you little ice cream girl."

She smiled and sat down on my lap as we both looked at the shattered moon. She then turned toward me and places a kiss on my lips, I pull her closer and her eyes widened for a minute before closing as she deepens the kiss. A few seconds later we both part and she smiles as we begin walking towards the apartment.

For once in this new world, I have something worth fighting for.
