(Croc's pov)

I watched my student's emerge victorious from the double's round with a small smile on my face. The past few months I had put them through an intense and grueling training course, for hours on end. All in preparation for this day.

As I watched the young faunus girl from team FNKI chattering excitedly to her partner I chuckled softly and shook my head.

"Kinda hard to imagine that those two wild students are from a academy as disciplined and militant as Atlas."

"Well perhaps the lack of seriousness and discipline in their style is why they were able to go against the opposing team the way they did."

Hearing the voice I sighed and looked over my shoulder before turning to face Glynda as she walked closer with a tablet in her hand.

"Ozpin sent you to call me?"

She looked at me, confused by my words and harsh tone.

"No....I just wanted to see you...."

I scoffed and began walking away from her, pausing as I heard her heels clacking on the floor behind me.

"May I ask why you are so upset?"

"You already know why I'm like this..."

She sighed and looked down as I clenched my fist.

"Can we just move on from this?"

"You know I might actually be inclined to do that, if this wasn't a constant occurrence."

"That's not-"

"Save it. Your work has always come in the way of our relationship. Even with me taking over the dust shipping and storage, as well as most of the hours of operations, there's always something that comes up and pulls you away."

I clenched my fists as I thought about that one night, several months ago, it seemed like a few years ago now.

"..I'm sorry Waylon...."

"The same thing you've said every single time before, but do you even mean it, or are they just empty words?"

She was silent as I walked away towards the classrooms.

(Bane's pov)

I watched Team RWBY pass the doubles round before leaving the arena and making my way towards the back of the school. As I reached the library I walked inside and opened the office behind it before shutting the door behind me.

I turned around and saw the room was empty before sighing and rapping my knuckles three timed against the desk.

"The coast is clear."

I blinked and suddenly Neo and Selina were both seated on the sofa, on the opposite side of me stood Croc and Ivy, holding a small vial of grey liquid in her hands.

I nodded and turned to face everyone.
"Great, everyone is here. Now I remind you all that Selina is on a time schedule here, so please pay attention to what she has to say."

"Salem had a plan to bring Vale to their knees. But Bane put a halt to that when he crippled the fall maiden."

She sighed and looked at the others.
"However, with Batman's help she managed to formulate another solution. And this time Vale won't be the only kingdom affected by it. All the other kingdom's will be hit, simultaneously."

How? There's no way the Grimm will be able to attack everywhere at once.

"Because this time the danger isn't from the Grimm. They're just a distraction from the real threat, a weapon far more dangerous than any amount or species of Grimm."

She nodded and the others grew silent at the news. What could be worse then the hordes of Grimm swarming the kingdoms?

"What is the aftermath of this.....solution?"
Croc asked, worry evident in his voice.

"When it hits, every kingdom's population will be decreased by 87 percent at least. And the people that do survive the aftereffects....become food for the Grimm."

All of us were stunned by this news. After several moments of silence I looked at her and asked.

"And there's no way to stop it at all?"

"A strike this wide, it's impossible to nullify it completely. But with the right equipment we'll able to decrease the radius of the attack, by.....seventy-five percent."

"Only seventy-five? That's still means one of the kingdoms is going to take the brunt of the attack."
Ivy said as she placed the vial in front of me.

I looked down at the small bottle, greyish-green fluid sloshing around as I picked it up and placed it in my vest.

Here's hoping I won't have to use it.

"Selina's right, lessening the damage is the best thing we can do right now. Where is the weapon being launched from?"

"From the highest point in Vale..."

(??????'s pov)

I landed the ship on the giant arena, adjusting the tie on my suit before stepping off and heading towards the docking bay. Walking towards the controls I saw several guards standing around, casually talking with each other, however two of them saw me and immediately began walking towards me.

"Sir, this is a restricted area, please leave now."

Without warning I lashed out and struck him across the windpipe, stunning him for several seconds before I grabbed his baton and knocked his friend out with a hard blow to the solar plexus. I turned back to the first one and kicked his legs out from under him before stomping down on his head, a hollow thud was heard as his head was pushed into the floor.

Twirling the baton I moved forward and knocked out the remaining guards, finally clearing out the area, before I walked over to the ship and opened the door. I held out my arm to the figure standing in the darkness.

"The path is cleared, come along my lady, don't want to be late."

A soft laugh was heard as the figure slowly walked out of the ship, heavy cloak hiding most of her body from sight, before a pale, slender arm came out of the heavy cloth and linked itself around my own.

"What a gentleman."
Cinder said as she stepped onto the ground, amber eyes peering out of the hood as the rest of her face was hidden by the shadows.
