"Live or Die? Make your choice."

Roman gulped and I saw beads of sweat forming on his brow. His expression changed from anger to fear in a heartbeat.

"Well....I don't want to die.....at least not yet."

"So you're smarter than the others, good for you."

As we talked I felt a tap on my elbow, I looked down and saw Neo with a worried look standing behind me.

I thought you said..

"Don't worry, I won't kill him.....yet."

He looked at Neo and then me in shock.
"Neo!? What are you doing with him?"

"She's my partner Roman and I still haven't got your answer, so live or die?"

"Your partner!? Neo, why?"

You wouldn't understand.

I sighed and pulled him closer before I activated the fire dust on the blade making the heat singe his face slightly.

"Clock's ticking Roman, what will it be?"

"Live!live!"

I looked at Neo who nodded before I sheathed my knife. He sighed in relief before I grabbed him by his shoulders and raised him up to my level.

"Very well I won't kill you. However, know that I'm not sparing you for free, you have something I need."

I dropped him on the ground and knelt down in front of him, staring into his eyes through the red lenses on my mask.

"Where is Cinder Fall?"

(Several Minutes later)

Was that really necessary?

"He's still alive isn't he?"

She looked down at his unconsious form, slumped against the wall.

Debatable.

I sighed and shook my head.
"Whatever, we're done here. Let's head back home."

We walked back to the apartment and as we entered I hung up my coat then sat down on the couch and cracked my shoulders before taking off my mask.

Roman's info was minimal, but at least I know where they will be at Phase two of their plan. All I need to do is wait.

As I took off my shirt I felt Neo's arms wrap around my chest as she leaned her head on my shoulder. I chuckled and got up before cradling her in my arms.

Well, I'm in no hurry.

I carried her onto the couch and sat down with her on my lap, she leaned her head against my chest and smiled as I embraced her.

Right now, you are all I care about mi amor.

I looked outside and saw the moon peeking out from the clouds, I picked her up and carried her into the bedroom before setting her down on the bed.

"It's getting late Neo. We should get some rest, I'll give you a minute to get changed."

She nodded and I shut the door before I went to the bathroom and got changed into a pair of shorts before going back. Neo had finished changing and was laying on the bed as I walked into the room.

I lay down next to her and she turned to face me. She reached out and gently traced the numerous scars covering my arms and torso, she then looked at me quizzically and I sighed and pulled her closer.

"A story for another time. Besides, talking is the furthest thing from my mind right now."

She snuggled into my chest as I pulled the cover over both of us. I looked at her and smiled as I brushed a strand of hair away from her face.

Sleep well my love.

You aren't the only one Bane.

I opened my eyes at the voice and looked around before realizing where I was.

Dark walls surounded me with torches hanging here and there. A large altar made of obsidian was in the center a few feet away from me, I looked behind me and saw two glowing red eyes watching me from the darkness.

"We have to stop meeting like this Salem, people are gonna talk."

A soft chuckle was heard and then the eyes disappeared, I turned back and she was standing in front of me.

"It's just you and me here Bane, no need to worry about prying eyes."

"Well then we can speak freely. Speaking of which, why bring Ivy here? Was I not enough?"

She smiled and walked away from me while I followed her.

"When did you find out?"

"When I first fought Cinder, I knew that she wasn't powerful enough to bring me to that dimension. So her master, or mistress in this case, was my next choice."

"I see, and Ivy?"

"Considering that you left the Grimm implant on her, I figured it out as soon as she came into this world. The only thing I don't understand is why you would chose us."

"Simple, when the war comes I'll need a general with me. And you, the masked mercenary, were the perfect candidate for the job."

"So when you failed to convince me you chose Ivy?"

"Her power rivals that of the maidens, pity she was defeated by you before the parasite could take over."

I thought about what would have happened to Ivy if I hadn't found her, as my thoughts wandered I suddenly remembered what she said.

"How many others did you drag into this world?"

"Why don't you ask him yourself?"
She said as she casually waved towards the altar.

I looked and saw black smoke drifting out from behind the obsidian. I raised my fists as more and more came out, expecting a fight, but the smoke didn't move towards me. Instead as it became more densely clustered a shape began to form from within the smoke, one that was all to familiar.

"..No...."

Salem placed her hand on my shoulder, suddenly images began flashing before my eyes. All the times I was beaten by him, all the times he put me behind bars. I growled and shook my head as I forced her presence out of my mind.

No! I will not be beaten again!

With a roar I spun and threw my fist into her face only for it to pass through her. She lashed out and on reflex I leaned back and slashed out with my knife. As the blade connected with her arm there was a loud screech as I was sent flying back through the air.

As I hit the wall I suddenly woke up with a gasp, I looked around and saw that I was back in the apartment. I sat up I looked and saw Neo fast asleep holding onto one of my arms, I sighed and lay back down next to her before puting my arm around her waist. As I drifted off to sleep I thought about what Salem said.

Who else was really brought here?
