Me and the two girls were fighting a pack of Beowolves that had ambushed us while we were walking towards the relics, we had been walking for almost an hour now, occasionally having to deal with Grimm on the way.

Although I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in how easy these creatures of Grimm are to defeat, since Junior told me that they're so dangerous I was expecting a challenge, so much for that.

Dangerous, How about Demeaning? The prisoners of Peña Duro were more challenging then these mindless beasts.
I thought as I landed a powerful elbow drop directly on an Beowolf's head.

I turned and body slammed another one, who had rushed behind me, breaking it's neck.

Is there not a single challenge?

I looked at Ruby flying from tree to tree, leaving a trail of rose petals and dead Beowolves.

Just then I heard a growl and a Ursa charged out of the bushes towards me. But before it could swipe at me a glyph appeared beside me launching it into the sky.

"Be more aware you dolt, I might not be here next time." Wiess huffed as she walked over to me.

"Awww how touching, the ice queen's worried about me." I said earning a death stare from her.

As the Ursa fell back down I slammed my fist into it's jaw in a powerful uppercut. It flew a few feet backwards before landing beside her, it's head smashed open.

"While I am grateful for your assistance chicka, I think I can handle myself just fine."

"Well, we're just looking out for each other, watching our teammates backs, right guys?" Ruby said as she landed beside me.

I chuckled and patted her on the head. She might have been younger than most, but what she lacked in experience she made up for in skill.

"Fair enough, now let's find these relics."

As we continued through the forest she looked at me quizzically.

"So where did you learn to fight like that? You must have had a great teacher."

I laughed, "Pain and experience, the only teachers I had and the only ones I needed, where I lived if you couldn't fight you didn't last long."

"So.....you lived outside of the Kingdoms?"

"You could say that, what about you? You're pretty skilled yourself."

"Well my uncle Qrow was a professor at signal academy, and he taught me everything I know about fighting."

I saw the way her face lit up as she talked about her uncle, family is something that she treasures. A pity I cannot say the same.

"He sounds strong, I would like to face him someday."

"Is that all you can think about? Who you can beat in combat? Mindless brute." Wiess scoffs as she hears my statement.

"Believe me I may be many things, but mindless is not one of them. Also while I don't actively look for trouble, I'm not one to shy away from a good brawl when the opportunity presents itself."

I turned to face her only to see that both her and Ruby were nowhere to be seen. As I was wondering where they went a large shadow moved over me, I looked up and saw them both in the claws of a Nevermore.

I ran forward following the avian Grimm as it carried them away. As I ran I exited the forest and reached the relics.

As I made my way towards the relics I saw two people standing by them, one being Yang who smiled and waved as she saw me, and the other was the girl with the black bow from before. She just glanced briefly at me before looking back at the forest, I glanced at the bow and saw it twitch slightly.

"Hey big guy, didn't find a partner in the forest?"

I shook my head, "So far the only people I've seen are the Schnee heiress and your sister, speaking of which....."

I pointed up and saw Ruby jump down from the Nevermore.

"Is she gonna be ok?."

Before Yang could reply a boy crashed into Ruby, sending them both into a tree.

I guess that works.

I watched Ruby pick herself off the ground, just then a Ursa charged out of the bushes. I raised my fists but then stopped when it suddenly collapsed at my feet.

"Awww it's broken."

I looked up and saw a ginger haired girl jump off the Ursa's back and land beside me. A few seconds later a boy with black hair and a pink stripe through the front, walked behind her.

"Did she just ride on a Ursa?" The Cat eared girl said.

Weiss then fell from the Nevermore's grasp, the boy in the tree jumped out to try and catch her, and failed though he successfully managed to cushion her fall.

Just then another girl, Pyrrha Nikkos I remember she was called, ran out of the forest with a Deathstalker close behind her.

I saw the Deathstalker and grinned under my mask, I cracked my knuckles and raised my fists.

Finally a true challenge

"Great everyone's here, now we can all die together." Yang said.

"Not if do something about it!" Ruby shouted as she rushed past me scythe swinging only to get knocked down by the Deathstalker.

I looked up and saw the Nevermore launch several feathers at Ruby, she avoided most of them but one managed to pin her cloak down.

The Deathstalker drew closer and stabbed it's stinger downward.

(Ruby's pov)

I saw the stinger come down and I shut my eyes, but the impact never came.

I opened my eyes and saw Bane holding the stinger between his hands.

"No one's dying today."

He slammed the stinger down and grabbed the Nevermore feather that was pinning my cloak. He raised his hand and drove the sharp end of the feather into the Deathstalker's tail earning a loud screech of pain. He then slammed both hands into the feather pining the tail to the ground.

He turned towards me and with one fluid motion picked me up and carried me away bridal style.

(Bane's pov)

I had pinned down the large Grimm for now, but I knew that it wouldn't last for long. I picked up Ruby and began sprinting towards the others.

I picked up my pace as I heard the Deathstalker screeching behind me. If Ruby hadn't been in danger I would have killed the oversized arachnid.

I looked at Ruby and saw her cheeks turn a shade of bright red. She looked at me and quickly pulled her hood over her head hiding her face.

I chuckled at the sight and placed her down with the others. She was as light as a feather.

"Th-thank you for saving me." She mumbled in a bashful tone.

"Don't thank me yet." I said as the Deathstalker broke free.

"We're not out of the woods just yet."

We all turned and ran towards the ruins, as we were on the bridge the Nevermore crashed into the supports causing the bridge to crumble.

I jumped forward and landed a dropkick directly on the Deathstalker's tail knocking the stinger into it's left claw, after that I spun and threw a haymaker into it's right claw knocking them both aside.

I back flipped away as the others moved forward, and we all fought the Deathstalker eventually managing to sever it's stinger.

"Alright Nora, nail it." Jaune shouted.

I grabbed her and swung her around two times before throwing her up into the sky, as she started to stall out she turned around and using the momentum of the grenadelauncher part of her hammer launched herself downwards driving the stinger into it's head like a nail in a wood plank.

I turned towards the others just in time to see Ruby decapitate the Nevermore by dragging it up a cliff.

"Well done pequeña rosa, well done indeed." I said as we headed back toward Beacon.
