(Salem's pov)

I watched Killer Croc training the students of Beacon with a scowl, I brought him to this world, gave him a home, gave him purpose and a promise of a brighter future with the white fang.

And yet he betrayed me, allied himself with them. I clenched my fist and sighed before the image in the seer faded. As it floated to the side the doors to the chamber opened and in walked a dark clad figure.

"You summoned me my lady?"

I smiled as I looked at my latest servant, this person wasn't as powerful as Cinder but their skills were perfect for the job. I looked at the seer and an image of Beacon formed in its globe.

"I need you to retrieve something from here, and I need it done discreetly."

"As you wish."

As my servant disapeared I looked out the window at the shattered moon.

"Well Bane, it's your move now."

(Bane's pov, Six days earlier.)

I opened the apartment door and walked inside before sitting down on the couch. Exhausted I lay there for several minutes before I felt a soft tap on my shoulder, I opened my eyes and saw Neo standing there with a concerned and upset expression.

You need to stop this. You're overworking yourself.

"You know I can't do that."
I said before standing up, I made my way towards my room and opened the closet before pulling out a new coat and a bag of dust rounds.

As I slung the bag over my shoulder I felt her pull me towards the bed. I looked at her standing beside me and she pointed at the bed while holding up her scroll.

Enough of this Bane. We need to talk and I will not let you leave until I've said my piece.

With a sigh I sat beside her and she placed her hand over mine.

Why are you doing this to yourself?

"Thanks to Croc's info the whitefang's operations in Vale has been halted. But Cinder and her group are still at large. I will not rest until I find her."

And when you do find her? What then?

"You already know."

She shook her head and punched me in the chest before glaring at me.

You haven't slept for almost two whole weeks. At this rate Cinder will have no problem killing you, and that's if you don't die of fatigue first.

I looked away with a sigh, I knew that Cinder was the one in charge of the remainder of the Whitefang in Vale as well as the neighboring towns outside of the kingdom. With Adam and Croc both gone they now answered to her.

"With her whereabouts still unknown I have combed through the city, searching nearly every acre and yet she was nowhere to be found. The authorities have confirmed that neither she hasn't been seen leaving Vale, which means that she is still here somewhere."

She gave an exasperated sigh and rolled her eyes.

I don't know nor do I understand why you are so obsessed with finding her. Why are you so hell bent on finding Cinder?

"Because she is the only person with a direct link to Salem! If I'm going to defeat her, I need to know more about my enemy otherwise I'm rushing in blind!"

I sat down and looked at the ground.
"Salem showed me a vision of what she intends to do to the kingdoms. And I don't want that to be our future Neo, to just become food for the Grimm."
