It was later on that night after dinner and after Demi had given Rosabella a bath that Demi was struggling to get Rosabella to bed without her beloved stuffed rabbit she's had since Demi could remember. She's had it since Demi has been looking after it but Demi wants to start to try and pry it off her ready for when she joins Kindergarten this September. Rosie isn't having none of it though keeping a firm grip on the rabbit as Demi pulls it off her. The rabbit rips into two pieces Demi having hold of the leg and Rosie having the body as she bursts into tears.
"Oh baby I'm sorry!" Demi exclaims getting onto her knees grabbing the body from her. "Mommy will put this back together, she will be like brand new in the morning!" Demi promises making the little girl calm down.
"Promise?" She questions and Demi nods.
"I promise baby girl," She says kissing her head. "Now you climb into bed with your new dolly and your rabbit will be right beside you when she wakes up. Rosabella nods going to bed willingly knowing that her mother is fixing her beloved toy.
Demi was sat in the chair sewing the toy rabbit together while Zac was dosing in the chair after a rough day at work. Demi shakes her head when he lets out a little snore. The only reason Demi stopped sewing the rabbit was she saw a sheet of paper up its leg. She raises her eyebrow as she pulls it out laying the rabbit on her lap. She unfolds it seeing it's like a letter, she thinks she shouldn't read it but she couldn't help herself.
Dear Rosabella,
This is your daddy. I didn't want to let you go off into care or elsewhere and be with anyone else but me but I've done it for your own safety. I know I will probably change my mind over letting you go because the truth is I can't do it
At that point the note stopped making Demi even more confused, why would her real dad write that but put it in already if he couldn't let her go? Reading this note just makes her want to find out who Rosie's real dad even more than before. She always meant to find out but it just never happened. She can't imagine a life without her by her side and knows her real parents would want her to themselves, she's just not prepared to let go quite yet. Demi folds the paper back up placing it in her pocket before carrying on sewing the rabbit off. Demi was nearly done when Zac woke up from his dose making Demi giggle.
"You were snoring!" Demi accuses making him chuckle.
"Some of us work for a living!" He teases making Demi fake gasp.
"That's not nice!" She exclaims cutting the thread so the rabbit is fixed. "Ready to come to bed?" Demi questions standing up as he does the same. They switch the TV off before they make their way upstairs. Zac enters their room but Demi makes her way into Rosabella's room. She smiles at her little girl laid on the bed fast asleep with the doll she had gotten still next to her. She makes her way over laying the rabbit on the bed beside her before kissing her head gently. She stays kneeled down beside her for a couple of moments watching her sleep before exiting the room closing the door slightly behind her. She brushes her teeth and pulls her hair up into a pony tail after changing into a pair of pyjamas.
"Demi!" Zac exclaims getting impatient at how slow she is taking.
"I'm coming!" She shouts making her way in jumping on the bed next to him. She lays down on his chest as his arm finds its way around her as they begin having a small conversation about how their day had been but it didn't take long until they were both fast asleep after a long day at work then looking after the girl they see as their own daughter.
